This is part of an early interventon strategy and is therefore targeted at families wth children under the age of five. Families, with the support of their vohjnleer. are more likely to access health and social care services, have opportunities to develop their parenu.ng skills, grow conlidence and be more able lo access activities and opportuntties in their comrnunilies. Home-start Craven also provide5 high-qualily voILEnteering opportunities to enable those who engage to gain relevant experience to access employment opportunities and to enjoy improved physical, emotional and manial well being. The number of referrals received continues lo rise, the aftermath of the CoMd-19 pandernic and Gosl of Ilviny crisis continue lo influence dernand. Referrals received from a number of agencies and the scheme is well placed in lenns of strategic development wthin family support provision in Craven. Staff allend local netsvorking events and continue lo meet vlilh other Horne-start schernes throughout the county lo share best practice and experiences and lo ensure that fijlure planning reflects the needs of the local community. Throughout the year, Home-slart Craven has provided indwidual support lo 55 families, benèfiting 199 people. In addition lo individual volunteer*ased suppori, the scheme has conllnuèd to evelop a range of activities lo reduce isolatiory and loneliness in families and lo encourage healthy lifestyles. 594 famili8s accessed the groups on 202314. In addits'on, Hom&Start Craven woths alongside the local Aldi slore lo offer surplus fcK)d an(i household items lo families on a weekty basis and has worked in partnership wth Pnnciple Trust lo provide family holidays for those in need of a break away from home. Home-St8rt Craven continues lo recruit high calibre v(Aunleers and 7 volunteers attended our preparation course in 2024. Volunteers report that they feel valued and are able lo use their training to access employment opportunities to further Iheir own professional development.
