events and activities for children and

Northern England
• To promote the active involvement of

association, including young adults
with special needs.

This year We Can Dance have provided
dance lessons costing £27,655 equating to
over 1,100 hours to 18 schools.
In addition we have provided T Shirts with
Logo, Ballet shoes, paid exam fees,
provided certificates and medals and props
totalling £3590.
We held fundraising events towards the
cost of these lessons and other supplies
namely:-
• Ascot Ladies Day
• Entries to the Great North Run
We also applied for and were awarded
grants from the following benefactors:-
• Tesco
• Teesside Charity
• Mark / Allertonshire Masonic Charity
• National Lottery
• Boshier Hinton Trust
• Moto Foundation
• Thirsk Lions
• Darlington Lions
• Rank Foundation
• Brunton Trust
• EE Lawler Foundation
In addition we held a Training Day for our
current teachers and several others who
were potential new recruits. This was run by
the Northern Ballet (Leeds) and was
extremely successful

Para 1.38 All our Trustees and Committee members
are volunteers and receive no payment
including expenses. Their work includes:-
• Attending meetings
• Taking and Production of minutes
• Managing the finances including payment
to teachers etc
• Arranging functions and managing them
on the day
• Applying for grants and when successful
monitoring the spend and completing
closure reports
• Visiting and liaison with schools and
teachers on a regular basis
