During 2021 we have had the privilege of adapting to meeting in person at the end of the year. At the start of the year we continued to use Zoom for our main meetings and as restrictions eased we have attempted to return to meeting in person. We continue to use Facebook for communicating with the wider community. This year membership has dropped to 52. Sunday morning services continue to include adults, children and young people. We used our outside space to meet for prayer during the warmer period of the year. These were held alongside zoom meetings, when the weather wasn’t as favorable, with the same focus of meeting and praying together. Due to the infection rates in December we held our well attended Christmas carol service outside with candles and some small bonfires. We held a family Christingle service also outside which was well attended by people from other groups the church runs. As part of our Christmas celebration we engaged with our local shopping center and spent a day singing carols in the shopping precinct, alongside the Mayor turning on the Christmas tree lights. Throughout the year when restrictions have allowed we have continued running a church football team |

with training taking place weekly along with games for local leagues. Our monthly board games evening have operated again as restrictions have allowed. We have continued with Kintsugi groups this year being held on zoom to start with and then in person as restrictions were lifted. Alongside this our church joined in with the big church read of a book by Ruth Rice called Slow Down Show Up And Pray. From this we have started working with Renew to setup a Renew space with the aim of creating a space for people to work on improving their wellbeing. Community youth work has been encouraging toward the end of the year with several of the previously attending youth inquiring about resuming meetings from before COVID. Towards the end of the year we were able to hold some meetings. It has been a joy to welcome young families back to our stay and play sessions, this group is now called Saplings. We adapted the way the sessions were run in line with Covid guidelines. Families collected bags of toys and played on ‘islands’. We have met new families and enjoyed seeing those who came before Covid. We also made available the rooms within the church to hire for local community groups, events including celebrations, training and learning and perfecting skills.

| objectives Other FINANCIAL REVIEW SORP reference Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period Para 1.21 The finances of Leigh Park Baptist Church have been very stable for a a number of years and whilst giving increased a little, the budget for the coming year identifies that some outgoings in 2021 will be lower than in the previous year and the opportunity will be taken to repay in full the loan that remains outstanding from previous property repair works and improve the floor in our second hall. Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held Para 1.22 Although the Charity has no restricted funds and all funds are therefore available to be used, the Trustees consider it productive to retain a surplus sufficient to meet 3 months of outgoings. This surplus was comfortably maintained throughout 2021 and at the year end. Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 Reserves sufficient to meet 3 months of outgoings Reasons for holding zero reserves Para 1.22 n/a Details of fund materially in deficit Para 1.24 There are no funds or subsidiary undertakings that are materially in deficit.
