The Parcthial Church COU￿11 has quantified the above statements by prc￿Uang several focus areas. these areas as our focus, Anerley Team Ministry (ATM) hopes to be able to demonstrate rts commitment to providing communrty-based services and support that will be of tenefit to the public, with the aim of demonstrats'ng the love of Jesus through praclJ'¢al ath'vits'es. The fccus areas indude those that rdate diredy to the Church corfjregation, for example the gr(Mth of prayer groups and smal fellowship groups that meet in homes and areas that relate to the widercommunty, for example serving the poor and marginalised, continuing to reach out into the community and forging links with local Churches and Christian organisatsons. In planning the athvibes, the PCC have applied the guidan￿ on public ben8fft issued by the Chanty Commission. Wth regard to the PCC'S oblKJations to safeguard chil(fren and vulnerable adults, the members of the PCC confirm that they have complied Y￿th their duties under sethon 5 of the Safeguarding and Clergy Discipline Measure 2016. The PCC has also agreed to accept the House of &'sh¢)ps Safeguarthng wlicy. In common wth many churches. the chanty is heavily reliant on volunteers who assist in many aspects of church lrfe. The value of their input cannot be quantsfied and the trustees are very ￿ateful to all those who give of their servi￿$ voluntarily. Achievements and pwfvmiance On 26th June, Rt. Rev. Simon Burton Jones, Bishop of Tonbridge and the Venerable Allie Kerr, Archdeacon of Bromley and Bexley. inducted and instituted Rev Richard Jones as the Rector of Christ. Wotsthp and P￿￿er The Par(thial Churth Council is keen to provide drfferent fomis of worship that will appeal to different Styles and ages. The range of services offered usually includes altcMJether services, communion services, yoLrt￿led services and simultaneous translats'on into Ukrainian in setvitss offered in Christ Church. Harvest Thanksgiving was celebrated in our pla￿ of w￿shiP and in a service in local primary school, James Dixon. A service of Rernernbran￿ was held on ReMernbran￿ Sunday and a short act of remembrar£e was held in Betts Park on Saturday 11th November. A new pattem of outreach services and events was offered in December induding the launch of 'Messy Church,; 'Carols. Mulled Wne and min￿ Pie. semces Dress- up, Mtcgether N*'vity services. We were delighted to welcome and host a Chnstrnas service for James Dixon Primary Schod. The Welcome Teams operate in Churches to provide a warm welcome to visitors and ensure they ¢2n access all they need e g Sunday school. hearing Icx)p, large print Bibles, toilets etc. The teams are also trained in fire evacuatson procedures. The electC￿al roll was renewed in 2019 and it stood at 220 at the APCM on 22rd May 2023. Throughoui the year the thurches are available for bapknsms, dedicats'ons. wedding and weddings and fvnerals. Since Ihe summer, we've been encouraged by a steady stream of newcomers The first of a new quartedy 'Aftemoon Tea, for new￿rnerS will be held in January 2024. Disopleship Two ￿eeklY bible studies crmts'nue to meet in both churches. Three small groups.. and several prayers tnplets also met. During the year. &ll Woodman has led a vRekly evening gathering for men. Altemating between meeting together in church and in a local pub. this is a valued ministy Children aTrY Youth During the y&ir. Maureen Gwgh, Heather Hawth￿. Belinda wa￿aw SuPP￿8d by a small and dedicated team of helpers. have led a crealive and engaging Sunday ministy to Children. During trE week. Ray Blackman with a small ream of helpers has led a popular'Toddler Toy ministry. On average 30 prfrschijolers and their parentslcareers attend. Supported by another small and dedicated team of hel￿rs. Roman leads the ministy to young people. They meet t(Y3ether on IVK) evenings every week. Personal mentoring is also offered. Pastoral Care Some members of the parish are unable to attend Church due to sickness or age, although they are able join the Livestream services. ATM encourajes all members of the church to join a small group or prayer tnFdet where they can develop and share their faith wrth others and provide and r8c&ve support and encouragement. The Rector and a small group of people prowde support to others at home or in hosptlal and offer friendship. prayer and communion. A small team also provides a regular Sunday aftemoon service in t￿) local residentia homes f￿ the elderfy. A meals ministy was launched to offer pra¢*ic21 supwrt to thurch members as personal arcumstance may require. Mission Evangelism ATM is committed to serving both our kxal and wider ￿mmunitieS practically, spiritually and finanaally The Parc¢hial Church Counal has a policy of giving away at least 10% of rts annual income, in accordance wth our chnsts.an belief. This is divided be￿aen a vartety of missions that are UK based and international. We also seek to support individual members who vAsh to volunteer for speafic projects that demonstrate their Chrisb'an faith by sUppO￿n9 fund raising events and making small financial ￿ntributIOnS. We also seek opportunrties to take the Church into the communrty. At Chnstmas we go out into the community. For example. every household in the pansh received an attractive colour invtsts.on to Christmas serviceslevents,. tne Rector lead two teams to 'bless' returning rail commuters at both train stations in the parish and invite them to Christmas. Events and services. We have held services in I(￿al patks a number of times during the year. Coffee st￿p- meets weekly in Christ Churth. It is a POF>in outreach aclivity. welcoming both church members and people from the community. People enjoy ming in for a chat, a cuppa. a listenirvJ ear arKI hearing a short refledion focused on Jesus. Ffftdom Forum- Darrell Mdeish works with people vhK) are ￿-offenderS or are struggling wth mental health related issues. As well as regular meeb.ngs for the group. there is also a practical side. for exaM5￿e, the lQ'ngs Car Wash has been established as part of the ministy. This is a w wash which opeThgtes at the church premises and provides an opForturNty for pw)le in the Freedom Forum to experien￿ regular WOTk. From October. the ministy extended to visib'ng residents of Cantertiury House to conduth'ng a weekly gathwing. Westminster Theological cent￿ (wrc) - Melissa Hutchings continues as Hub Leader. The church has invested in what we belEve is the best theolc•Jical training available, allcpAting students to remain in their jobs or at home wilhout needing to travel to study. This is a gift to the wtder church as we sed( to equip members of our own congregation and those furtfEr afield to grow in their knowledge of God and their ability to serve Him. Page 4

We run the Q'ngs Boxing programme to encourage young peoF4e to enjoy the benefits of leaming self-control and introducing them to the Lord Jesus We have been running between 2 and 3 sessions a week. Mis&on De￿lOpMent- in 2019 received a grant to (*velop our ministry in the local community building on Freedom Forum and lQngs Boxro As a result. Julie Connolly is employed as our mission devel¢)pment pastor and Darrdl McLeish as our freedom Forum pastor. Julie arranges and organises our outreach which is largely f¢xused on the Food Bank. Julie leads a weekly enquiry and disupleship group for people who connected through the Food Bank and street evangelism. Tne ministy of a small and dedicated team vtho gather to way during the week and parb'apate in evangelistic ministy is gre￿Y appreaated. SuMn￿rtH￿￿ Event- Anerfey Team Ministy heFd a sUmme￿me event in the Church car park at St Paul's Anerley with sand. refreshments, worship and a daily word of encouragement to all present The attendance for this was around 100-200 people per day and we ran the event for 9 days. A wonderful opportunity for the Church to build relationships with the community and with sharing the Word of God. Christmas HamperAppeal- we distn'buted 48 Christrnas hampers full of gotrjs such as Christmas food items. children's toys, vrdmi hats, socks. gloves. gift cards, toiletnes and practical items that wll give those who are lonely, families who don't have much, and those who find Chnstmas a partscularly difficult bme of year a little lighter and hope to get through this season. A TM Food StO￿- This works in partnership wth a Christian fc4)dbank as part of Transfom Bromley Borough,. a group of eleven churches working together to provide food for families and people in need. in the name of Jesus. People collect the food from the church wemises. although a few are not able and we deliver to them. We have held several teaching sessions on making positive lifestyle changes, we give away Christian literature and pray with most of our dients Evangelistic Team Mirrislry." Laho￿, Pakistan- we continue to support Pastor Zeeshan as he develops his ministry in the Lahore. Mis&onary support- UkraI￿- we have had links to a rural thurch and commuThty thin Ukraine for many years. Financial Revie There was an overall surplus for the year 01 £22,795 compared to a surplus (exduding unrealised gains on investments) in the previous year of £33.853. It is the policy of the Chjrch that unrestn'cted ftmds, exduding the revaluation reseNe and fixed asset5. which have not been designated should be maintained at a level equivalent to betr￿n th￿ and six-month's expenditure. The Parochial Church Council considers that reserves at this level will ensure that in the event of a Page 5
