THE PURPOSE OF CORESS IS TO PROMOTE SAFETY IN SURGICAL PRACTICE, BOTH WITHIN THE NHS AND IN THE INDEPENDENT SECTOR. IT'S AIMS IS TO SERVE ALL SURGICAL DISCIPLINES BY: ANALYSING SAFETY-RELATED REPORTS WHICH WOULD NOT OTHERWISE BE AVAILABLE.AT ALL TIMES KEEPING THE IDENTITY OF THE REPORTER CONFIDENTIAL.PUBLISHING LESSONS LEARNED AND FEEDBACK COMMENTARY IN THE SURGICAL LITERATURE.
Objects: To Advance The Education Of Surgeons By Publishing Feedback On The Causes Of Adverse Incidents And Near Misses Involving Surgery Through A Confidential Reporting System For The Collection Of Safety Related Issues, To Analyse And Identify Trends And To Advise Interested Bodies On Issues Relevant To Surgical Safety With The Aim To Improve Patient Safety.
