THE PURPOSES OF THE CLUB ARE THE PROMOTION OF COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN HEALTHY RECREATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF SWARKESTONE AND THE SURROUNDING AREA BY THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR PLAYING CRICKET.
The monies raised by charitable donations in the last 12 months are to be used for supporting club development. The club continues to support training and coaching facilities for pupils of four local primary schools, supported by volunteers.
Like many organisations, this year has been very challenging with regard to the Covid 19 Pandemic. The club was unable to fully function, enforced by closure from February 2020 until 11[th] July 2020 when a shortened version of league cricket, coaching and training commenced. Obviously the club continued to have financial commitments with much less financial income.
However, grant support from South Derbyshire District Council, Sport England and generous donations from members enabled the club to continue to support local participation in the playing of cricket.

Swarkestone Cricket Club Auditors Re th ort Year l October 2019 to 30 Se tember 2020 The accounts for the period showed a closing bank balance of £12,696 at 30th September 2020 up from an opening balance of £4,691 at the start of the year. Incomes and expenditure were both down on previous years because of the effect of the Covid pandemic and the continued closure of the facilities. Income was some £40,549 and expenditure £32,544 producing a surplus during the year of £8,005. These figures reflected the receipts and expenditure which agreed to the entries on the bank statement. The club were helped by an extraordinary receipt of £12,500 under the Government help scheme on Covid. I confirm that the figures have been checked by myself and show a true and fair view of the financial activities of Swarkestone Cricket Club for the year.
