Our Operotionol Area Tendring is ranked as the most deprived of oll Essex districts. Seven areas in Tendring are in the most deprived 10/0 in England. There ore low family incomes in the oreo. 15 words ocross Tendring hove child poverty in the 20-50Vo range with significont high pockets (30Vo+) in Horwich. and Clacton. Jaywick is the most deprived area in Englond. There ore very f ew activities available for young people in the area. o high degree of vandolism, eorly drugs use and because of the coastal locations o low police presence. In the period June to end December we delivered 434 hours of regular sessions to 162 young people. With increased f unding from The Arts Councll and Youth Muslc, slnce Jonuory we hove delivered a further 572 hours to 274 young people. This has included performances to the whole schools ond porents for some schools. Secondory School Support With support from the Essex Music Hub we have started regular ofterschool sessions ot Tendring Technical College ond now through alternative funders we are extending the the work ot TTC. operoting ot Clacton Couniy High School ond Market Field College SEND funded by Youth Music.

Our regular sessions at the Jaywick Martello Tower and our Harwich facilities are expanding as a result of our activities with primary schools. Providing sessions for complete year groups broodens the inclusiveness of our operotion ottracting more girls ond children with learning difficulties and there are spins offs f rom the secondary school sessions to our Soturdoy Horwich sessions. Government Grossroots Music Support. We hove funding. to be delivered through Hamf ord Studio. to provide o range of skill development ond indLJStry services to feed tolented young people into the indLJStry. These include songwriting workshops, stLJdio engineering moster closses in conj unction with Decoy Studios and live performonce vldeos. The projecl is evolving ond completes in Morch 2026. We hope to contlnue the work through Hamford Studlo Performance Opportunltles Two mojor events occurred during the year a summer showcose ol Hamford Vlew and a Chrlstmas event In Harwlch. In addltlon we supported locol communlty events with o vorlety of bands and artlsts. This is 15 years of WAM and we stoged an event in a circus big top to celebrate. Young people who hove been supported by us in the post reformed bonds especially for the day. Flnanclal Revlew Our turnover £124,695 shows on Increase on last year (last year £110,536) and we returned an excess of £18,777. Vorious gronts provide restricted f unding, ond we are holding bolonces totaling £77,473 at the year-end for these funds. These are supported by £96.806 cash ot the bank. During the year we hove funding from Ihe Essex Community Foundation, the People's Healih Trust, the Notionol Lottery Community Fund, the Essex Muslc Hub, The Arts Council. and Youth Nusic. Golng forward we have Grossroots Muslc Fundlng to work wSth Hamford Studlo and Shored Prosperlty Fundlng to support the WAM15 Festival in August 2025.
