Memorandum and Articles of Association doted 1 Februory 2014, It Ss
regislered as a chority wlth the Charity Commisslon. Anyone over the
age of 16 can become a member. Children from 9 to 16 wlll be members
through their parent or guardian.
Appointment of Trustees
As set out in the Artlcles of Association at the Annual General Meeting
one third of the trustees retire in rolation and con be re-elected at the
meeting. If another party wishes to seek oppointment. they must give not
less than fourteen days, notice nor more than thirty-f Ive days bef ore the
date of the meeting to the Charity.

Our Operotionol Area
Tendring is ranked as the most deprived of oll Essex districts. Essex County Council figures show
Tendring is -falling further and f urther behind- The ECC Orgonisational Intelligence report states
°Tendring shows o challenging environment focing young people in the oreo.-
Secondory pupils score the lowest in wellbeing in Essex.
Seven areas in Tendring are in the most deprived 10/0 in England.
There ore low family incomes in the oreo.
15 words ocross Tendring hove child poverty in the 20-50Vo range with significont high pockets
(30Vo+) in Horwich. and Clacton. Jaywick is the most deprived area in Englond.
There ore very f ew activities available for young people in the area. o high degree of vandolism,
eorly drugs use and because of the coastal locations o low police presence.
In planning our activities, the trustees have considered the Charity Commissions guidance on public
benef it, includlng the guidonce on publlc benefit and fee chorging. We are Music relies on gronts

WE ARE MUSIC - breaking records!
In the period June to end December we delivered 434 hours of
regular sessions to 162 young people. With increased f unding from
The Arts Councll and Youth Muslc, slnce Jonuory we hove delivered
a further 572 hours to 274 young people. This makes the total for
this occounting yeor1,006 hours to 436 young people
The Youth Councll has been a greot success Includlng developlng
taster sessions in the Horwich focility. ond outreach sessions across
Tendring. They hove also secured more signed guitars. one donated
and slgned by Seosick Steve and another slgned by Lolo Young.
Maisie Peters. Joe Flubel, Holly Humberstone, Nectar Woode, New
Dods, ond Tom Misch to ovction and support our operation.
Prlmory School sesslons in our Harwich faclllty have been o mojor
success. Twelve primory school ore involved in the project thot
supplies six one hour session for all Yeor Six children ot our Harwich
centre includlng tronsport lo ond from the school,
In addition we are operoting out reach ofter school club sesslons in
five primory schools focused oround rurol ond low income oreos.
This has included performances to the whole schools ond porents for
some schools.
Secondory School Support
With support from the Essex Music Hub we have started regular
ofterschool sessions ot Tendring Technical College ond now
through alternative funders we are extending the the work ot TTC.
operoting ot Clacton Couniy High School ond Market Field College
SEND funded by Youth Music.

Our regular sessions at the Jaywick Martello Tower and our
Harwich facilities are expanding as a result of our activities with
primary schools. Providing sessions for complete year groups
broodens the inclusiveness of our operotion ottracting more girls ond
children with learning difficulties and there are spins offs f rom the
secondary school sessions to our Soturdoy Horwich sessions.
Government Grossroots Music Support. We hove funding. to be
delivered through Hamf ord Studio. to provide o range of skill
development ond indLJStry services to feed tolented young people
into the indLJStry. These include songwriting workshops, stLJdio
engineering moster closses in conj unction with Decoy Studios and
live performonce vldeos. The projecl is evolving ond completes in
Morch 2026. We hope to contlnue the work through Hamford Studlo
Performance Opportunltles Two mojor events occurred during the
year a summer showcose ol Hamford Vlew and a Chrlstmas event In
Harwlch. In addltlon we supported locol communlty events with o
vorlety of bands and artlsts.
This is 15 years of WAM and we stoged an event in a circus big top to
celebrate. Young people who hove been supported by us in the post
reformed bonds especially for the day.
Flnanclal Revlew
Our turnover £124,695 shows on Increase on last year (last year £110,536) and we returned an excess of
£18,777.
Vorious gronts provide restricted f unding, ond we are holding bolonces totaling £77,473 at the year-end
for these funds. These are supported by £96.806 cash ot the bank. During the year we hove funding from
Ihe Essex Community Foundation, the People's Healih Trust, the Notionol Lottery Community Fund, the
Essex Muslc Hub, The Arts Council. and Youth Nusic.
Golng forward we have Grossroots Muslc Fundlng to work wSth Hamford Studlo and Shored Prosperlty
Fundlng to support the WAM15 Festival in August 2025. We end the year with secure forward income with
grants from the Arts Council. Youth Music and the National Lottery Communlty Fund.

to the accounts and comply with the chority s governing document, the Charities Act 2022 and the
Chorities SORP (FRS102) second edition 2019.
