s Irom the Treasu During 2023 we have b8&n busy Iransferring thè Church's ac(x)unls to a new slruclured software package. which should. after a p8riod of f8miliarisalion, simplify the whole. accounting and feporting process. The software callgd MyFundAcc4)unling is a speciallsed Church of England packago recognised by the Rochester Diocese and used by many parishe5. The data Is saved in Ihe cloud and therefore Issues should arise with the storage and backing up of our finanei81 information. You will notice thal the look of our 2023 Ateounts, allhough familittr, is presented in a sllghlly diffeTaril way and for this r&ason il's more difficult to compare th8 numb&rs like for like against the 2022 accounts. I have added some comparative 2022 1018ls for information. HoweveT, now w& have a full year's sol of numbers in the system going forward in 2024 reports will include full prior year comparative numbers. There are material changes in the structure of thè accounts.. 1. Th8 separation of the Pre-Schi)ol accounts from the General Fund lo the Reslricled Fund. The main benefit of this will b& to reduc8 the tolal General Fund incom8, which Is tssèd by the Diocese as parl of our Parish Offer calcul81ion.11 wlll also ba easier to monitor th6 Pr8.School finances. 2. The decoupling of th8 200 Club Accounts from the maln Church A(unIs. Th8 200 Club donation for 2023 (£1,100) has b88n included In our Generdl Fund income with th8 200 ClubAccounls appended as a stand-alone page in the acrx)unls. This Irealrnenl has bean discussed and agreed by our Independ8nl Examiner. For further darifcalion th8 Church Accounts comprtS8 thre& funds. l. G¢neial Fund Unrestrlcted This is th8 pool of funds used for th8 day lo day running of the chufch and our contribution to the Diocese (known as the °Parish Offer.) which includes amongst olh&r Ihlngs the funding of our clergy. This Is funded through Collections. planned giving, unrestricted donations, fund r8islng and gift ald. 2. Vlcars h rchWardnF This is whare legacies and other donations are recorded. These ftjnds ar8 r*ng-fenced from our General Funds for use by specific instruction5 of the legatOTldonor, or. otherwise al the discretion of the PCC for specific projects. Finan ial Review 202 In 2023 we benefited from a very generous legacy and sp8nt a significant sum on replacing the hall roof, which had been requiring continued patch repair for several years and it was a great relief to be able fund a complgte replacement. Notwilhslanding the expendlture on the roof we are still left with a materlal sum in the Vicar's and Church Warden's Fund for other projects discussed and deGidgd upon by PCC. 2023 General Income Income was £2k less than reported in Ihg 2022 accounts. Items lo note.. Colle Lu no material change,. Glf d £3k less and back lo pre-2022 levels (th8re was a one-off item in 2022 which accounts for the difference). Interest Income up £2k due to rislng interest rates: Hall In om 2 up £3k. 2023 General Expendlture Expenditure was £6k more than reported In the 2022 accounts. Items to note: LenSeS £2k higher largely due to some items allocated to Ihe Vicars Expenses related lo Church Running costs. This will be avoided in 2024,. As Istant Clo up £1.5k due to the accounts including both 202212023 exp8nses (a one-off). Engr £3k more. Our fixed rate contracts expired at the end of Sept8mber,' Photoco In /sta(lone £3k less. A new photocopier contract explalns som6 of this. Restrlcted Fund Income. We received legacies totallng £167k and donations for of £1 Sk credited to the Vlcars and Church Warden Fund. Ex endl¢ur8 Material items: Hall Roof (£101 k} and New Hall Doors {£5.5k} were replaced. Charltable Donatlons of £7.2k made. Balance of V&CW fund carried fOard £157k.
