Thc Charity is governed by an approved goveTlling docutnent issued by the United Refornied Church (URC). The objects clause of that document has not change4L The object of the Charity is the advancement of the Chrlstian faith for the benefft ofthe public in accor￿ with the Scheme of Union of the URC. The Trustees Trustees of the Charity are the serving Elders of the church. They ate elected by the members to serve for a period of three year& at the end of which they nwy be eli￿1)]e to offer themselves for Te- Clection. Nominees for Eldership must mem1￿rS ofthe church and have Eeen so for at least one year. Election of Elder3 takes place at the church's Annual General Meeting in October. Whilst no fornial training is give￿ as Tnrt Elders are encouraged to take advantsge of such trustee training oppoitunities as are available. Trust￿$ receive no remuneration ill resp￿ of their duties but are reimbursed for expenses prO￿ty incurred in the course of their work. Objeelives and activi Since I" July 2019, Havant and Fmsworth United Reftirnied Church (the Church) has opei*ing under the t¢rn]s of 'Y)ne Church on Two Sites". enabling the congregations in the towns of Havant and Effjsworth to contillue their separate WOTship and outreach activities but with admiillstration being carried out &s a single entity from HavanL The WO￿ of the Church is mainty ¢entred in the area bounded by the Borough of Havan( maintaining pastornl links with other churche4 both United Refornied and other denominations within a ten-mile radius of the Borough. Regular public worship for all is provided at the church buildings in Havant and Emsworth (the churchesl promoting th¢ Christian fait￿ providing trdiniD& nurture and activities for children and young people, serving the community. giving pastoral care and support to manbffs and others in ll¢￿ particularly those in sickne4 distress, povety and b¢r¢avemenL The churthes also provide premises and r¢sourL%S for community groups and athitses. The TrUst￿S believe they have iJ)dividually and collectively complied with the duty imp)sed by section 4 of the Clwtties Act in having due ryard to guidance published by the Charity CoJDmission in T¢S￿Ct of worship for the public benefiL Achievements and perfornL2nce As in previous years, the Church is currentty without a minister, and visiting preachers have continued and will continue to lead worship at both Havant and F￿}swOrth. This wes the congregation a variety of voices and viewp)ints in the promotion of Cbristian Faiity and enables the Church to provide regular public Wo￿lp for all. The Church is also bl¢&sd with a numbff of lay pr&whers and a retired minister who gTaciousty give of their time. In April 2024, Reverend Tim Clarke's term as the Church's tnterim Minith came to an end. Reverend Clarke's interim ministy commenced in the autumn of 2022 as an intentional missional process to help the Church through a time of change and trdnsition in between ministrieA.
