Para 1.20 GCFUK Annual Overview
Spiritual Life & Leadership:
GCFUK holds weekly church services in the
Gujarati language every Sunday at 3:30 PM at St
John's Church, Wembley. These services
provide a meaningful opportunity for Christians
of Gujarati origin to worship the Lord Jesus
Christ in their native language and to enjoy
fellowship with one another in a culturally
familiar setting.
In addition to the regular Sunday services,
various families hosted thanksgiving gatherings
and celebratory meetings throughout the year.
These events, held immediately after church
services, were open to all members and included
fellowship meals and refreshments. They have
consistently
drawn
increasing
attendance,
reflecting the growing engagement and unity
within the community.
To further support the spiritual needs of
members, GCFUK conducts weekly Skype
prayer meetings every Saturday at 9:00 PM.
Additionally, two Bible study groups meet every
Friday from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM—one in
Hounslow and the other in Wembley. These
sessions run throughout the year and have
become a vital space for scriptural learning,
spiritual growth, and mutual encouragement.
Through these regular gatherings, members
continue to experience the transforming power
of God in their lives,becomingliving
testimonies to His grace and truth within the
wider community.
Family visits:
The pastoral team carried out home visits to
members and their families, providing spiritual
guidance, emotional support, and holistic
pastoral care tailored to individual needs.

Services
and
Celebrations
In addition to its regular Sunday worship
services, GCFUK supports a range of ministries
tailored to specific age and gender groups
through dedicated committee groups, including
Men's, Women's, Choir, Youth, and Children's
ministries. Each group leads special themed
services throughout the year, such as Men’s
Sunday, Children’s Sunday, Choir Sunday,
Women’s Sunday, and Youth Worship Sundays,
fostering deeper engagement and spiritual
growth within their respective communities.
The church also commemorated key Christian
festivals with reverent and joyful gatherings,
including Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and
Christmas Day services. Seasonal celebrations
such as house carol visits, Christmas Eve
services, and Watch Night services were hosted
at members’ homes, where the congregation
assembled in a spirit of unity and celebration.
To mark the beginning of the calendar year,
GCFUK organised a New Year’s Day service
and celebration, which was attended with great
enthusiasm and heartfelt devotion by members
of the congregation.
Annual family picnic

GCFUK organised a family day trip for members

to West Wittering beach on 27th July 2024. Over
90 members took part in this outing. GCFUK
offered seats at a subsidised rate to it's members
& also, free seats were made available to those
members who were keen to participate but
unable to afford the cost.
Holy Week Meetings
During Passion Week, GCFUK hosted a series of
evening gatherings both at the church premises
and, on selected days, via Zoom to accommodate
wider participation. These meetings featured
distinguished speakers who delivered insightful
Bible reflections focused on the death and
resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Attendance
steadily increased, with over 25 participants
joining each day.
The Good Friday service included profound
teachings on the seven last sayings of Jesus,
offering
deep
spiritual
reflection
and
encouragement. Easter Sunday was celebrated
with a vibrant Gujarati folk dance, followed by a
fellowship dinner that fostered a strong sense of
community, joy, and shared faith among
attendees.
Family Retreat
On Saturday 21 September 2024, GCFUK
hosted a full-day Family Retreat at St John's
Church, Wembley. The event welcomed guest
preachers from The London City Mission, who
delivered enriching messages drawn from
Scripture, focusing on Christian family values
and the spiritual growth of the Church as the
body of Christ.
Approximately 40 members participated in the
retreat, engaging in worship, teaching, and
fellowship. Hospitality was extended throughout
the day with the provision of lunch, tea, and
refreshments,fosteringa warm and inclusive
environment for all attendees.
Giving Sunday
On 8 September 2024, GCFUK celebrated
Giving Sunday—a dedicated occasion to reflect
on the abundant blessings bestowed by God. The
congregation was encouraged to respond in a
spirit of gratitude by giving generously towards
the work of God and the welfare of others. This
initiative fostered a culture of joyful generosity
and reinforced the church’s commitment to
serving both its members and the wider
community.
Baptism Sunday
On 22 September 2024, GCFUK, in partnership
with Holy Trinity Church Hounslow, hosted
Baptism
Sunday—a
significant
spiritual
milestone for the fellowship. Twelve members of
GCFUK were baptised, publicly professing their
faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and affirming their
commitment to walk in His ways.
The service was conducted with reverence and
joy,
marking
a
profound
moment
of
transformation and celebration within the church
community.
Church of England Confirmations
On 13 October 2024, GCFUK, in partnership
with St John's Church, Wembley, hosted
Confirmation Sunday, a significant occasion in
the spiritual journey of its members.
The service was presided over by the Bishop of
Willesden, Rt Revd Lusa Nsenga-Ngoy, and
marked a formal affirmation of faith within the
Church of England. A total of 55 GCFUK
members
received
confirmation,
publicly
committing to their Christian walk and
deepening their connection to the wider
Anglican community.
Food Bank Initiative
On 10 November 2024, GCFUK organised a
Food Bank initiative, encouraging members to
donate a wide range of long-life food items and
essential toiletries. These contributions were
distributed
to
individuals
and
families
experiencing financial hardship, reflecting the
church’s commitment to practical compassion
and community support.

Men’s Fellowship

The Men’s Fellowship at GCFUK is an active
and
committed
ministry,
with
members
gathering regularly for weekly prayer meetings
and contributing enthusiastically to the life and
activities of the church. On 16 June 2024, the
group led the congregation in celebrating
Men’s/Father’s Sunday, taking responsibility for
the worship service and offering special
recognition to fathers within the fellowship.
The event was marked by heartfelt appreciation
and a strong sense of unity among attendees.

Women’s Fellowship

Throughout the financial year, the Women’s
Fellowship at GCFUK has led a series of
impactful initiatives designed to nurture spiritual
growth, strengthen community ties, and support
women and families in need.
Key activities included a 24-hour prayer chain,
regular
house
group
meetings,
and
the
organisation of a special Women’s and
Mothering Sunday service.
On 30 March 2025, the Women’s Fellowship led
the
congregation
in
celebrating
Women’s/Mothering
Sunday,
taking
responsibility for the worship service, sharing
the Word of God, and presenting a special
cultural programme.
These efforts have fostered a strong sense of
unity, empowerment, and fellowship among
participants, contributing meaningfully to the
spiritual and social life of the church.
Youth Fellowship
During the current financial year, the Youth
Fellowship at GCFUK demonstrated vibrant
engagement and spiritual leadership.
On 16 February 2024, the group organised Youth
Sunday at St John's Church, Wembley, with
attendance rising to over 70 participants. The
youth led the worship service and shared
reflections from the Word of God, showcasing
their growing confidence and commitment to
ministry.
In addition to special services, the Youth
Fellowship meets monthly for group Bible
studies. These gatherings not only support
spiritual development but alsoprovide a safe and
supportive space for young people to share
personal challenges, receive encouragement, and
pray together.
The fellowship continues to foster a nurturing
environment where youth are empowered to
grow in faith and community.
Sunday School
Sunday School is conducted each week during
the message time of the main service,
consistently welcoming a growing number of
children. This ministry plays a vital role in
nurturing the spiritual development of young
members
through
age-appropriate
biblical
teaching and interactive learning.
As part of its annual tradition, GCFUK
celebrated Sunday School Sunday on 17
November 2024.
The children participated enthusiastically in a
range
of
activities,
including
dance
performances, Bible recitations, and worship
songs. The event continues to grow in impact and
attendance, fostering deeper engagement among
children
and
encouraging
their
active
involvement in the life of the church.
Worship Ministry
GCFUK’s Worship Ministry is anchored by a
vibrant and dedicated choir that leads the
congregation
in
worship
every
Sunday
throughout the year, guiding members in
heartfelt praise and adoration of the Lord Jesus
Christ.
On 1 December 2024, the Choir Ministry
organised a special Christmas Carol Sunday,
featuring
seasonal
hymns
and
musical
performances that celebrated the birth of Christ

and fostered a joyful spirit of worship and community. Pastoral update Face to face pastoral care and social activities continue. Our Pastoral Visitors (and others) maintain contact with the church community by visiting all those who welcome it and where it is not possible, by making phone calls or text messages, contributing to the WhatsApp groups, and emailing our weekly services details and special event invitations. We are blessed to have such people, serving others and demonstrating God’s love. Our pastoral team provided support to our members during the time of celebrations and challenging times. Our pastoral team visited families at the time of sickness and loss of family members, providing spiritual and pastoral support in challenging times. I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31/03/2025, which are set out on pages 3 to 8

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').

I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner's statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe: (1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the Company as required by section 386 of the 2006 Act; or (2) the accounts do not accord with those records; or (3) the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of section 396 of the 2006 Act other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination; or (4) the accounts have not been prepared in accordance with the methods and principles of the Statement of Recommended Practice for accounting and reporting by charities (applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102).

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

The financial statements of the charitable company, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)', Financial Reporting Standard 102 ' The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland' and the Companies Act 2006. The Financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

Resources expended

Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal constructive obligation committing the charity to that expenditure, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement, and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably.
