Para 1.20 | It is pleasing to report that room bookings are approaching the levels achieved pre the pandemic. The Church is in partnership with St Mary’s Church, East Barnet in the East Barnet Anglican Methodist Partnership (EBAMP). Shared activities with St Mary’s and other churches and faith groups include Lent Groups, the annual Remembrance Sunday service and service to launch the annual Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. In addition, members participate in and support a wide range of community activities including foodbanks, community centres, faith and peace walks and other outreach work. Wesley Hall has also been utilised as a collection point for gift packages which have been sent out to those in need, including The Ukraine and Romania. Both Brookside and Wesley Hall have benefitted by the attendance of Police Community Officers who have come to coffee mornings at both venues and warned of criminal activities such as scammers. Brookside has a craft group and celebrated the King’s Coronation with special events. Wesley Hall and Brookside provide important indoor venues for the annual Christmas fairs. For Brookside, this included hosting an art and craft exhibition for local artists. |
