I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Barnet Brookside Methodist Church for the year ended 31 August 2021 set out on pages 2 to 4 As the Church's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').

I report in respect of my examination of the Church's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and, in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Para 1.20 negative effects of the Covid pandemic. For
much of the year, worship could not be
held at either location, so they were moved
to on-line.
Church members and other members of
the local community were kept in contact
through weekly e-mails and printed notices.
Fellowship and friendship for all ages was
also maintained through Zoom meetings.
Offerings were made by standing order and
cheque rather than traditional weekly
collections at church services.
The Church is in partnership with St Mary’s
Church, East Barnet in the East Barnet
Anglican Methodist Partnership (EBAMP).
Shared activities with St Mary’s and other
churches and faith groups include Lent
Groups, the annual Remembrance Sunday
service and service to launch the annual
Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. These
were shared online.
