In Apdl, we celebrated St George as well 8$ the 50rh Annlver$ary of the 14th Torbay Scout Group initiative here at St Paul's. Thi5 Service ma¥ked the beglnnlni of several celebrations, a5 thls rftovement stsrted operating here through the Insplration of one of our prevlous vlcars. In June, we had the Engllsh Riviera Air Show, where we were able to make full use of the field behind the church, welcornl06 people from near and far, We continue to have the Fellowship Lunche5, whlch are held on the last Wednesday ol each month at Ye Olde Smokey House Inn. Marldon. Later In the summer, Mark Brookman arranged for the fasclnatlng 'This Is My Story. photo portrait exhlbbtlon to be dlsplayed at Chr15t Church and St Paul'5. It was a powerful mlsslon opportunltv We contlnue to meet for Blble study ènd wor5hlp on Tuesday nights. It has been encoura8in8 to hève 8 commitment frorn many who have found thls fofm ol lellow5hlp helpful lor thelr growth in Chr15t. The Thursday coffee mornin&5 contlnue to bless the communlty. We have seen an inrre15e In attendance and deeper conversatlons. From exchan8in8 books to read to prayln8 for one another, Gcd15 workin6 in and throu8h thi5 space, Durln8 October and November, we held a Youth Alpha course attended by 8 conslstently hlgh number of teena8er5, mostlv Internotional. wlth some locol5. There was also a Restricted Funds receipt of £19,000 in the year. The total expenditure this year was £141.97112024 £83,990). In addition, there is an unrealised loss on the investment this year of £1.371 12024 - 10s5 £2631. This has been funded by moving £39,0 from our CCLA Deposit Account to our Lloyd5 General Actount; within thls move was £11.7k of unspeclfled Legacy monies + £2.3k of Le8a¢y money speclfled for securlty, £2.8k Le68ql money for PA & Sound. Income stream5 are genèrated from the Parish Glvin8 Schemè, standlng orders, hall hlre, envelopes (which are kept at the end of the pewsl, cash in the offering plates and digital giving terminal. We have received income from the newly Installed Srnaft Parklng system. The contribution to the Dlocesan 'Parlsh Share, which hèlps towards the cost of stlpends and houslng costs for ihe lerRy, was paid In full this year. There were no le8acie5 received in 2025. No HMRC clairns for Gift Ald were made in 2025. There will a catch up in 2026. We employed three admlnlstraiors in 2025, and contlnue to provide rental support to our Pioneer Worker. A Farnlly Worker will be appolnted in 2026, funded by a recent £19,000 8rant from the Benefact Trust Ltd, to cover lor three years. Our tlthe for 2025 was glven to Claudaline'5 work in the DRC (through the Semeliki Trust) and lo the local youth charlty Llnx- a total of £3,557. Throughout the year, safe8uardSng has been managed by our Parish Safeguarding Officers, collaboTatin8 closely with cler8y, chyrchwarden5. and the Diocese of Exeter. Safeguarding recruitment procedures have been properly followèd, includlng the correct use ol DBS checks. references, and role descriptions. Training on safeguardins has been promoted and rnonitored for clergy, PCC members, and volunteers in accordance wlth diocesan standard5. Safeguarding policie5 have been reviewed and are displayed and accesssble wlthin oui church buildings and onllne where appropriate.
