From: thomas.relton@btinternet.com Sent: 16 November 2021 11:08 To: Simon Manley; Michele Heyworth Cc: John Eddison; Colin Secretary Hargreaves Subject: EXAMKINATION OF SCRC ACCOUNTS FOR 2020 /21
Dear Simon & Michele,
This is a formal notification of the results of the examination of the SCRC’s Accounts for 2020 /21 and must be recorded within the Club’s records.
Colin Hargreaves and myself have examined the Club’s Accounts for 2020 /21 as set out in the Club’s Standing Orders and found them to be a true and accurate record of transactions.
The examination was done in 2 parts:-
Part 1 was completed by myself and reconciled all bank transactions for the 3 main bank accounts General / Hospitality, Charity and the SFR to the ‘Day Book’ Excel file completed by the Treasurer, John Eddison. All records tied in and there were no anomalies.
Part 2 was completed by Colin Hargreaves and all transactions above a minimum of £500 were investigated to ensure there was adequate paperwork to substantiate the transaction which there was.
We must set on record John Eddison’s exemplary record keeping which allowed the examination to be completed quickly and smoothly with a minimum of fuss; with nearly 50 years of accounting experience I found it to be a seamless process and made the task so much easier.
Obviously , the impact of Covid -19 has resulted in a major reduction in the volume of transactions but the high standards John has set himself has been maintained and sets the bar for future Club Treasurers.
Kind Regards,
Tom Relton, FCMA, MBA.
