The trustees have pleasure in presenting their report and the unaudited financial statements of the charity for the year ended 5 April 2025.

The Trustees

The trustees who served the charity during the period were as follows

Structure, Governance and Management

The charity maintains accounting records and reconciles the bank for the trust. The trustees consider the most effective use of it’s funds held for the benefit of the trust and have external investment advisors. The external investment advisors performance is reviewed annually by the trustees and monitored on an on-going basis throughout the year. The Charity also assesses it’s purpose, mission and values against the Charity Governance Code. The day to day management is overseen by Romilla Arber, no decisions are delegated to non trustees. The Charity’s bankers are UBS and its investment advisors are UBS. The charity adopts a policy of reasonable expenses in relation to duties carried out by the trustees and others in respect of trust affairs. To date no trustee expenses have been claimed or paid. The trustees meet on a regular basis, with minutes taken of the meetings to record matters discussed and decisions made. An annual financial review meeting is held, where the accounts, annual return and annual report are discussed. The charity reassesses its purpose and achievements each year, using the Charity Governance Code.

Objectives and Activities

PARK FAMILY CHARITABLE TRUST

The Charity's governing document (declaration of trust) sets the objects as being exclusively for charitable purposes, including the relief of financial hardship, the advancement of education and the benefit of the community. Every request is considered by the trustees and is responded to. The trustees are concerned to apply the Charity's funds where alternative funding is not available and a real benefit may be achieved from their donation. The Charity has not undertaken any fund raising activities to date.

Achievements and Performance

The charity made several donations during the year totalling £39,785 (2024 - £79,604).

Financial Review

The balance sheet shows liquid assets of c£260K. The trustees invested in listed stock during the year, which is generating a monthly income and is a cautious investment.

Plans for Future Periods

The Trustees continue to support a number of charities, particularly those addressing homlessness, drug issues, domestic violence and prostitution etc. The Trustees are assessing the viability of supporting several more charities in the coming year.

Note 1 Basis of preparation

1.1 Basis of accounting

These accounts have been prepared on the basis of historic cost (except that investments are shown at market value) in accordance with applicable United Kingdom accounting standards, the Statement of Recommended Practice "Accounting and Reporting by Charities' issued in March 2005 (SORP 2005) and the Charities Act 1993.

There has been no change to the accounting policies (valuation rules and methods of accounting) since last year.
