The main activities of the British Olympic Foundation include the promotion and advancement of all aspects of the Olympic Movement through public education in sport, sporting activity and other forms of physical education and recreation.
Objects: 1 The Promotion And Advancement Of Public Education In Sport (which Encompasses All Aspects Of Sporting Activity And Other Forms Of Physical Education And Recreation) Throughout The World Including But Not Limited To:(a) The History And Development Of Sport;(b) The History, Development And Structure Of Local, National And International Sporting Authorities;(c) The History And Development Of Sports Medicine;(d) The Social, Political And Economic Effects Of Sport2 The Promotion Of Health Of The Public (especially Young People), In Particular By The Provision (and Assistance In The Provision) Of Facilities Sports Coaching And Nutritional And Other Lifestyle Advice;3 The Promotion Of The Study Of And Research Into The Causes, Treatment, Avoidance And Prevention Of Any Injury, Ailment, Complaint Or Disability Which Arises Or May Arise From Participation In Training For Any Sport, Sporting Activity Or Other Form Of Physical Education Or Recreation Anywhere In The World And The Provision Of Relief And/or Treatment For Anyone Suffering From Such Injury, Ailment, Complaint Or Disability;4 The Promotion Of Community Participation In Healthy Recreation By Providing Facilities And Opportunities For Playing Sport, Physical Recreation Or Other Similar Leisure Time Occupation In Particular For Those Who Have A Need Of Such By Reason Of Youth, Age, Infirmity Or Disability, Poverty Or Social And Economic Circumstances;5 The Relief Of People With Physical Sensory Or Mental Disabilities By Encouraging And Facilitating Their Participation In Sporting Activities And Assisting In The Provision Of Training, Facilities And Equipment For This Purpose; And6 Such Other Exclusively Charitable Purposes As The Trustees Of The Charity May In Their Absolute Discretion Determine;and In Furthering The Objects The Trustees Shall Observe The Principles Of Olympism So Far As These Are Not Inconsistent With Their Duties As Charity Trustees.
