Free resaNes are calculated as unrestricted r888Nes that are freely available and are the net current assets of th8 ch8rity, excluding restricted and d8slgnat8d funds. As at 31 March 2025 free resernes are calculated as totalllng £1.087,000 (2024., £1,068,000). The policy of the organisation is to hold free reseries approximately equlv8lent to twelve months, nomial revenue expenditure, currently forècast to be lo £1,1 $8,000 per annum. This will enable the organlsatlon to ¢onlinue lo operate and malntaln services should Ih8r8 b8 any InlerNption in any of its fundlng sourc8s and to provide resources lor any slgnificant mainlenance vmrk required to Age UK House. A Property Fund has been 8Stablished vlth a balae equal to the net book value of Age UK House. whlch at 31 March 2025 was £153,000. In addition, an Investmanl Propéty Fund has been created to reflect the fair value of the portlon of Age UK Hous8 thal Is avallable for rental. Followlng a upward revalualion of £23,000. the balance of this fund at 31 March 2025 is £500,000. Together. these two funds onable the malorlty of the Charity's non-liquid reserves to be clearly identified.
