GRADE RUAN COMMUNITY TRUST

Registered Charity 1121984

Trustee’s Annual Report April 2021 to March 2022

The Trust continued with its core management tasks of maintaining the car park in Cadgwith, and three sets of public toilets in Cadgwith, Kennack Sands and Ruan Minor, along with care of the grass verges at the entrance to Ruan Minor.

As ever, there were minor incidents of vandalism particularly at Kennack Sands Toilets, their heavy use in the summer, and relatively isolated position after hours does result in heavy wear and tear along with deliberate damage, and increasing costs.

Peter Freeman and Moira Hurst resigned their Trusteeships during the year.

Vicky McClarity was elected as a Trustee for three years in October 2020. Judith Heather was elected as Trustee and Trust Secretary for three years in November 2021.

The Trustees as at 31 March 2022 are as follows:

Paul Collins (Chair), Jonathan Fletcher, Mo Jones (Treasurer), Elwyn Jones, Vicky McClarity and Judith Heather (Secretary).

The installation of the new Car Parking Machine, which accepts card transactions, and increasing visitors over the summer months has led to an increase in income for the Trust.

Emerging from the previous year of the Covid pandemic, requests for funding were few as local groups and organisations gradually came back to life and began to function once more.

Grants were made to community groups as follows:

Cadgwith Christmas Lights £1500 Infrastructure
Improvements
Ruan Minor Football Club £1,000 Seed funding & new
equipment

Our credit account balances are healthy and we can confidently look forward to the coming year where we have planned to carry out the refurbishment of Ruan Minor ladies toilets, and we already have a number of request for funding for our community groups.

Judith Heather

Secretary
