The MosquÈ ha$ 8iven money to welfare charities specialisin8 Sn providing health care and ed￿atIonal service5 for the pfy)r in Pakistsn. Thi5 year. as we did last year, we adMiniste￿d the receipt and remittance of £2(￿5.55 Frtrana, which 15 collected and sent to the Edhi Foundation in Pakistan to provide health care and education for the poor. According to Islamic laws, Fltrana funds tannot be used for the provision of the sort5 of facilities that our charity provides and so there Ss no detrlment to the charlty as a resu￿ of these rernittances. Activities and achlevements Durln8 February 2020 tt Was becoming apparent that the coronavirus was spreading from Asia into Europe. We relayed imwjrtant messa8es to our staff, con8re8ation and students about how they could help themselves and their communities by ensurin8that they followed government and public healih 8uideline5 in maintalnln8 good personal hygiene. We also made them aware of the sympioms and ihat rfanyone wa5 displayin8 any of the symptoms then they should not attend any con8regational prayers. On I￿ March 2020 Ashton Central Mosque suspended all activities at the [￿sque. We were able to continue wlth madrassah classes by swrtchin8 to online classes t￿rt all con8regational. religious and community artivities were suspended. We were able to communicate these messa8e5 to our congregation throu8h our web51te and soclal media platforms. We also celebrate other key events in the Muslim calendar. especially Eid Milad-un-P4abi to celebrate ihe birth of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing5 be upon him, to whorn the Qur'an was revealed. We also hold weekly Qurfan recttation and understanding sessions on Thursday evenin8s and a monthty thanksgiving service. Funeral fa¢llltles.' The Mosque provides facilttie5 for conductinglslarnic funerals in line with the teachin8s of Islam. We also provide facilities for CondL￿1n8 remembrance services. A Muslim need not give Zakat through the Mosque but we do provide th• opportunity for those attendin8 the Mosque to give Zakat and we arrange its remlttance io the Edh5 Foundation in Pakistan. Glvln8 and carln8 for the poor and d15adv8nta8ed is a fundamenial aspett of Islarn and an Obligatic￿ for every Muslim. Their aim is to hold enough funds to meet 6 rnonths, operating c05t5 of the Mosque, e¥cludin8 the collection and distributiorb of Zakat, and of our commuThitv activities. In cakulating the chariivs ￿erVeS the trustees have deducted from the total of unrestricted funds of the charity the value of the Mosque and othertallgible fixed assets as shown in the accounts and the designated fund. This leaves sufficient reserves to achie¥e the aim of covering at least 6 morbths expenditure during the year ended 31" March 2021. Princlpal fundlng Sources The chartty's main source of income is donations from members of the cong￿8atIOn, Madrasah fees and now a new rental income ttream for the lease of Lowes Joinery and from the ￿TrtaI of four residential properties.
