Manchester Taoist Centre trustees have had regard to the guidan issued by the Charily Commission on public benefrt when devising all activities In line with the objective of the charty, Manchesler Taoist Centre has promoted and delivered communrty classes, workshops and classes where the tradits'onal Chinese perfomiing arts of Lishi were taught for public benefit. This year has been a very successful year. More so than the charty was hoping for. Recruitrnent has been higher than expecled, and retention has imoroved markedly. A small number of new classes have been opened. with IAvo new intsructors being active for the first time. Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects {include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefiti Online dasses have conts'nued to be popular. and have been established as a robust alternative to nomial delivery. Manchester Taoist Centre has continued to seek grants and funds to supplement donations received from participants in order to provide a safe and quality leaming environment for effective practi. Manchester Taoist Centre has continued to invest in, develop, and improve strategies for attracting interest and participatiofl in classes and courses run by the charity, using social media, email and banners outside venues. Section D Achievements and performance Summary ofthe main achievements of the charity during the year Manchester Taoist Centre has gratefully reiVed donations from the public. New venues were added to the existing offer. New relationships wrth new venues were established. l Marketing 8Ctivrties were improved and increased to help grow dasses, courses and workshops, and to establish new classes. | Successes have been shared on social media and via email to raise the profile of the charty and to encourage people to the classes. Online classes continued to be popular for beneficiaries, and some even preferred this way of training and leaming to live dasses. This year has seen an increase in the scale and volume of activities, and an increase in participant numbers. and the chanty hopes to continue this progress in the coming year.. Manchester Taoist Centre does nol charge a membership fee. We do not want to exdude people from joining classes and nef.ng from ils activities. Manchester Taoist Centre encourages those people who can afford to make donations depending on the value they place on the work of the charity. In this way. we raised funds through the classes, workshops and courses njn by Manchester Taoist Centre. The charity is grateful for the support of all its donors, and wll also seek altemative funding streams from grant awarding bodies. All volunteers give their time for free and do not gain financially from the work they do.
