THE DIRECTORS REPORT
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2022
The directors present their report and the un-audited financial statements of the company for the year ended 30 September 2022. This is the sixteenth year that the society has existed as a company.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
The principal activity of the company is that of operating as an agricultural society and the organising of fund raising events to help finance an annual show. The society also distributes some of it's surplus to local charities. The company was set up in October 2006 to take over the activities of the society which had existed for many years.
REVIEW OF THE BUSINESS
The annual show took place on Sunday 3rd July 2022

For the year ending 30 September 2022 the company was entitled to exemption from audit under of the S477 Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.
Directors' Responsibilities:

the members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its accounts for the year in question in accordance with S476,
-
the directors acknowledge their responsibility for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts,
-
these accounts have been prepared in accordance with the micro-entity provisions in the Companies Act 2006, Pt.15 and FRS 105 the Financial Reporting Standard applicable to the Micro-entities Regime.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of Accounting
The Financial Statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, and in accordance with
the micro-entity provisions in the Companies Act 2006, Pt. 15 and FRS 105 the Financial Reporting Standard applicable to the Micro-entities Regime.
Turnover
Turnover represents subscriptions, donations and income from events undertaken during the year.
Tangible Fixed Assets
Depreciation is calculated so as to write off the cost of an asset, over its estimated useful life as follows:
Drainage Works - 10% Cost
Show Equipment has previously been written down to a negligible amount and therefore no further depreciation will be provided.
The Societies Trophies have been professionally valued by Fosters Jewellers for insurance purposes at a Figure of £44,110. Their original cost or acquisition value is unknown. However, it has been decided that a figure of £22,000 would realistically represent their disposal value. Trophies will not be depreciated.
