The Trustees conflrm that they have referred to the Charlty Comm15s1on's guldance on publlc benefit when revlewlng the Charlty's alms and oblectlves, In plannln8 future actlvltles, and setting the poSlcles for the year, A revlew of our achlevements and perlormance Durlng the year we supported 226 nèw famllle5 through both our Famlly Support Workers and our home vlsltlng volunteer5. wlth 21 famllles needlng a second block of support Of those famllles, 83% had parental mental health Issues, 72% faced soclal Isolatlon and 50% were loan parent5 The 5alford Infant Feedlhg Peer Support Project has sUPPOrted 361 famllles durlng the Same perlod Therefore, throughout the year we have supported a total of 587 famllles, an unprecedented number for our scheme Throughout the year we recrulted and tralned 47 new home-vlsltlng volunteers addlngto the exlstlnE army of volunteers who have been avallable throughout the year. We continued to expand our 5eNlces Into new areas and the Suc￿sS of the Salford Infant Feedln8 Peer Support Project Is testament to our endeavours Fundralslng and corporate Support contlnue5 to be a focus. particularly as competltion for new grants Is ever Increaslng Flnanclal revlew Income increased by 13% In 2024125 to £771,242 from £678,726 In 2023ft4 prlmarlly due to funds recelved In respect of the 5alford Clty Councll Infant Feedlng Peer Support Project and the Henry Smlths Improving Llve5 Grant. 80% of our expendlture Is on staffing and a550clated travel and expenses, a srnall reductlon from the prevlous year. The team and our army of volunteers contlnue to do an amazlng lob, All non-e55entlal support Costs such as offlce costs are kept to a mlnlmum.

ReseNes pollcy and Bolnz concern The total funds of the Charlty have Increased thls yeor to £2J7,827 from £191,383 In the previous year due to an Increase In restrlcted fuhd5 for proJect5 where the Income has been recelved but the expendlture wlll be Incurred In the followlng flnanclal year. The balance held In unrestrlcted reserves as at 31, March 2024 was £99,339 (a small decrease from the prevlou5 yearl of whlch £12,248 are free reseNes, after allowing for funds tled up In tanglble tlxed assets and potentlal redundancy costs. In the event that grant funding should cease, It would be vltal that funds are avhllable elther to allow alternatlve fundlng to be found, or In the absence of fundlng, an orderly wlnd-down of the scheme. The Trustees feel that It Is hlghly desirable to establlsh Reserves that would allow the scheme to contSnue operatlon for at least 6 months even If fundlng from ex15tlng sources are not renewed. Unrestrlcted reserves at the current level of £99,339 are deemed sufflclent to cover closure costs Includlng redundancy costs and pay In Ileu of £84,616. As the staff team hè5 Increased agaln In Ilne wlth the Increased Income and famllles, It's Important that unre5trlcted reserves also grow and this wlll be an Important polnt of focus In the comlng months. The Charlty's maln source of income Is grant5 and donatlons, The Trustees con51der that It15 approprlate to prepare the accounts on a golng concern basis and, consequently, the accounts do not Include any adjustment5 that would be necessary If these sources of Income should cease. Rlsk management The trustees have conducted a revlew of the major rlsks to whlth the charlty15 exposed, and 5yStems have been establSshed to mltlgate those rlsks. Plans for Future Perlod5 Plan5 are for contlnued growth to support as many famllles as po55ible across the 3 areas. Home-start Trafford extended Its geo8raphlcal area of reach Into Salford In January 2012 and then 5nto Wigan In January 2019. Home-StartTrafford, Salford and Wlg4n Ltd Is a company Ilmlted by guarantee governed by Its Memorandum and Artlcle5 of Assoclatlon dated 25th February 2020. It Is re8lstered as a ¢harlty wlth the Charlty Commlsslon, Appolntment of trustees As set out In the Artlcles of Assoclation trustees are elected annually by the members of the charltable company attendlng the Annual General meetlng and serve for a perlod of three years. Trustee Inducilon and tralnlni Potentlal Trustees are Introduced through recornmendatlon from staff, trustees or funder5. They are Invlted to attend 3 Board Meetlngs as a guest.
