Trnstee's Report For the year ended 31 March 2024 The trustee's who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of the Company Act present their report and accounts for the year ended 31 March 2024. The statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting poli(ies set out in note I to the financial statements and comply, the aiarities Act 2011 and the Ststement of Recommended Practi￿ "Accounting and Reporting by Charities" (Charities ￿RP FRS 102). It is also a registered charity, it is therefore governed by a Mernorandum and Artides of Association. The criteria set for the suitsble qndidate would be someone who is seThsitive to the needs and demands of the organisation. Objectives and activities for the public benefit The charity manages the Hershel Weiss Children and Family Centre, in partnership with Salford City Council. We provide services priniarlly but not exdusively for the I￿efIt of those of the Orthodox Jewish persuasiorL We proniote health throush traditional means and supplemenlary activities, promote children's development through play and structured acttvities. The Hershel Weiss ThllLtsen and Family Centre is part of the Broughton children's centre cluster. Our serV￿eS work hand in hand with the every child matters agenda of be healthy ￿taY safe , enjoy and achieve, achieve econoniic wellbein& the centre is a unique partnership between Aguda North West and SalfoTd city council our main aim is to bring c￿tUrallY appropriate services to a Conimunity that would not access elsewhere. The centre incorporates a sEyecially desi8ned training rn book, toy and training library, health clinic, crèche facilities, family roo￿ various offices, a lift and a disabled toilet. We a150 offer Faniily SUPPO￿ mother and baby clinics, drop in play counsellm& SEN supp)rt, trips and activities for the underprivileged, and benefit and personal grant supporL Over the past year over fami]ies per week are currently accessing services at the centre. An increase of 50 faniilies. Currently 107% of 1>5 in the local cornmunity are registered with our service and 84% are engaging with us. In the recent Higher Broughton duster Ofsted report descnTred the work of the Hershel Wei&8 centre as a place where potential barriers are removed with great sensitivity and skill so that local Earnilies Teceive the help they require. Over the past 18 months, 80% of our worHoad has increased to support the 8rowing numbeT of farnilies and children accessing our et1￿1￿Y appropriate services, requiring more support due to a number of i&sues affecting parents or children including parentsl mental health, poverty and debt victims of abuse and an increasing Thum￿r of lone parents. Thi8 means our services have to tsrget even further into an already ethnI￿Y Se￿ItiVe and economically deprived group. We have now set up a new project working directly with the growing number of single parent faniilies in the community we have now been awarded 3 further years of BBC children in need ftmding to work with these families. Our range of services has grown and we now support families much more holistically, we offer support to get holiday, furniture, home safety, clothing grants as well as counselling and activities for children with disabilities. Trnstee's Report For the year ended 31 March 2024 Statement of Tn￿tee6, Responsibilities The Trustee's are required under the Charities Act 2(ni to prepare flliancial statements for each financial year which give a trne and fair view of the charitys financ￿ activities during the yeat and its financial position at the end of the year. In preparing those finan￿ statements giving a true and fair view, the board of trustees should follow best Practi￿ and: Select suitable accounting po]icies and then apply them consistently; Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prndent; State whether applicable accounting standards and statements of reC0mn￿1dea practice have been followed, subject to any depart[￿eS disclosed and explained in the finan Prepare the kncial statements the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity wijl continue to operate. The trustees are also reSPon￿bIe fi)r keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy the financial position of the cliarity and which enable them to ascertain the financial position of the charity to ensure that the fnianctal statements comply with the requirements of applicable law and Tegulations. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Ch￿￿ty and hence for taking reasonab￿ steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other iTregularities. Basls of Andependent examinerfs report My examination was carried out in accordance with the G￿￿al Directions given by the aiarity ConunissioneTS. An examination indudes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also indudes consideralion of any unusual items OT disc]osures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such mattets. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequendy do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. Accountins Policies 1.1 Accounting Convention5 These accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with applicable accounttng standards and the tharities statement of recommended practsse on accounting by charities (Charities SORP FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011). Incoming resources All incoming resour￿5 are induded in the statement of financial acttvities when the charity is entided to the income and the amount can be quantified with Teasonable accuracy. Voluntary income is received by way of grants and donations and is induded on the SOFA when receiveable. Resources expensed Expenditure is recognised on an accrual basis as a liability is incurred. Clts7ritable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of its activities and services for its benefi(iaries. Governance costs indude those costs associated with meeting the constitutional and statutory requirements of the charity and indude the accountancy fees and costs linked to the strategic management of the charity. All overhead and support costs are allocated between the expenditure categories of the SOFA on a basi5 designed to reflect the use of the resour￿. Z Taxation The company is non profit making and a re￿stered charity and as such there is no corporation tax. 3.
