Annual Report of Trustees

For the Year Ended 30[th] June 2021

  1. PURPOSE The purpose of the Trust Fund is to receive donations and grants, and to apply both capital and interest earned to, or for, the relief of the poor and needy or such other charitable purposes as the Club shall see fit.

2. FUNDING PRIORITIES

During the year being reported on, funding priorities were focussed on support the local community in Sherborne and surrounding villages during the Covid 19 pandemic. In addition to making donations to the Sherborne Food Bank, an appeal was launched in collaboration with the Sherborne Area Schools Trust to raise funds for the purchase of laptops for children working from home during the 2020/1 lockdown. This appeal raised a net total of £44,965.40 including grants, some very generous donations and gif aid.

The total sum distributed to local schools was:

Examiner's Report to the members of the Rotary Cliub of Sherborne Castles on my examinationof the accounts for the year ended June 30 2021.(the Accounts) I report to members on my examination of the Accounts for the year ended June 30,2021.

In carrying out my examination I have followed the applicable directions given by the Charities Commission under section 145(ss5b) of the Charities Act 2011. I have completed my examination.I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which give me cause to believe that in any material respect accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or the Accounts do not accord with the accounting records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the Accounts to be reached.
