Meals on Wheels. Befriending. Personal IDdepend¢nc¢ Co-ordinaior and an advice service from Ihe Day Cenrre. We also wel¢om¢ people who ju51 pop for snacks and drinks. In addition, we offer a wide range of social activiiie5 boih wiihin the Centre Such a5 Chair Yoga and SCTabble club5. The Chief Officer5 work closely with the Staiurory Bodies. Voluntary Organizaiions. General Practitioners. Carers and Families in the hope thai no one 15 left in need. However. for the fflajority of the lasi year. during the devasiaiing Covid Pandemic. effeciively ihe Cenrre has been closed bui continued 10 operaie a Meals on Wheels Service. Befriending. Service. Prescription and Shopping services in accordance wilh Governmenl Covid guidelines. Respite care for those living wirh a Dementia and their careys ig offered through ihe Sunflower Centre. This too has been c105ed for most of Ihe year due to the pandemic, although d¢mand is consistent. The Centre hope5 to expand on this highly Successful service although this has been very limited to ielephone conraci and other contact within Covid guidelines duriT2g the lockdown periods. The Day Centre 15 managed by TWO Chief Offic¢r5 who job share. They martage ihe Day Cenire Manager. Sunflower Cenrre Manager. siatT and a team of volunteers who work io fijlfill our aims. The Chief OITicers are Mrs Tracey Ward and Mrs Jane Goring. MTS. Goring reiired in December 2020 and Trusiees and 011 staff ¥nd ¢usiomers thank her for her loyal service since 2013 and wish her # happy and peaceful retirement. All Siaff work excepiionally well as a well organized ream io provide probably the besi Age Concern facilities in Kent. We are a150 Friends of Age UK. As a condition of our Grant we work io a Service Level Agreemeni sei down by Keni Counry Council, Social Services Depameni. We have 8 curreni Health & Safety Policy and an up to date Fire Procedure. We have adopted.an Equal Opportunkiie5 Policy. All policies have been thoroughly reviewed in ihe lasi year and are ¥ll up to dai¢. As Stated in previous years we are unable to extend our facilitie5 further due to the structural Size of the premises. However we continue srriving io maintain a comfortable, clean and welcoming Centre for our clients. All staff hws r¢ceived appropriat¢ training all aspecis of their jobs and further training is planned. Age Concern Sandwich Cenire for the Retired runs two Charity Shops in Sandwich that continue to be invaluable in financially supponing the Day Centre. The Charity Shops in Marker Street and Cattle Market ¢ontinue to make a great contribution to the Centre's finances. The 5hop5 have not been able lo contribute 85 in the pasi to the Centre's Finances this financial year due 10 Covid but to mitigate cosrs lh¢ H¢ad of Retail h&% been Furloughed during the lockdown periods. Both ihe Day Cenire and Charity Shops coniinue io rely heawily on ihe invaluable help given by our volunteers who work tirelessly for our cause. These volunieers are overseen by rhe Day Centre Chief OffJcer5 and Head of R¢iail who have day to day responsibility for all matter5 relaiing to ihe Centre and Chariry Shop5. None of our volunEeers are eypecred io lift, bath or toilet any clients due io the frdct that the majority are elderly p¢opl¢ them5elve5. They do however work in our Hairdressing Salon, the Kitchen, Refreshment Counter. Minibus and Charity Shops. Finaneil review Age Concern Sarbdwich Cenrre for The Reiired has an annual grani from Kenr Counry Council Social Services. The Tru5tee5 continue to review fully Ehe fjnances of the Charily.
