The respons8 from the local community was quite astonishing and whilst ong can never say of a charity that Its fubjre is assured, Teckels Animal Sanctuaries is now in a far healthier FK)sition financially. Th8 problerns faced by our charity are those that every animal weW8re charity faces - the legacy of Ihe pandemic during whkh pel ownership increased massNely, ￿)UpIed wlth the cost￿01-I1Vi￿9 uisis leading to many nw ownets finding ihemsolves una￿e to continue caring for Iheir pets and luming to us in lh8 hope we might be able to rehome them. We do ev8Wing we Gan lo meet the challenge, and in thè past year we have suc¢gssfully rehomed 70 ￿(￿5 and 98 cats. We are cuffenuy flelding anything up to SO reques15 a woek to provide sanctuary for pets thgir owners can no longer afford to ke8p.
