During our year October 2022 - Seplembgr 2023 the ffinancial problenis we had begun to experiencg in the prgViOU5
year continuad and we wor8 obliged lo launch a public appeal for fijnds to enable the charity lo confjnu8 operating. The
respons8 from the local community was quite astonishing and whilst ong can never say of a charity that Its fubjre is
assured, Teckels Animal Sanctuaries is now in a far healthier FK)sition financially.
Th8 problerns faced by our charity are those that every animal weW8re charity faces - the legacy of Ihe pandemic during
whkh pel ownership increased massNely, ￿)UpIed wlth the cost￿01-I1Vi￿9 uisis leading to many nw ownets finding
ihemsolves una￿e to continue caring for Iheir pets and luming to us in lh8 hope we might be able to rehome them. We
do ev8Wing we Gan lo meet the challenge, and in thè past year we have suc¢gssfully rehomed 70 ￿(￿5 and 98 cats.
We are cuffenuy flelding anything up to SO reques15 a woek to provide sanctuary for pets thgir owners can no longer
afford to ke8p.
Our income sour¢e$
Compared with last year when we s8w a 50% drop in donation91￿garAes, Ihls year they ro88 by a ¥tsggetlng 312% to
over £SOO,OCQ. Incorno from bequ&sts increased from £31,000 In '21122 to £180,000 in .22123, whllst donaiions ros
from £130.0￿ to £321,000. Funds g8n8rated by van(￿S events increased from £34,O¢X) 10 £69,000 and donations
feceiv8d in respoct of pet adoptions rose from £21.000 to £24.0¢)0.
Boarding f88 income and 8lray8 income re￿Ved by our subsidiary, Teckols Boardlng Kennels Ltd, r099 by £39,000 in

should undertake and regularfy monitor th8 level of reserves. The reserves pollcy has a tsrgel of three months ol
operating costs lo be kept in reserve. The minimum reserve 18v81 Is six weeks of oporaling costs maintsined in th8
bank. The trustee8 consider that reseryes al this level will all¢)w them io continue th8 charitys current activitses whilst
making modest improvements to the L*nlr8 and its fadlWes.
