The object of the association (the objects) is to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by: Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school.

Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

The trustees are aware of the public benefit guidance and confirm that their objectives benefit the public. The Charity is set up to support and aid primary school children in and around the community of West Pennard.

During the year Friends of West Pennard School ran a number of fundraising activities such as seasonal fairs and children’s termly discos. As with all the fundraising events, these are run by the committee and the school, with help from parents of the school. Summary of the main Money raised from these events is put back into the school to activities undertaken for enrich the learning experiences for all the children. the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

We made a huge success of our Christmas Fair which raised £1,954. Overall the total that the charity raised for the school was £3,686.46, with additional funding of £24,978.61 coming from other funding sources such as £20,000 from Glastonbury Festival. This funding will be used to meet the School requests, class requests, Enrichment, to fund trips to theatre and subsidise transport costs. Our fundraising ended in March 2020 due to COVID 19 so we were not able to hold our annual summer fair.

The charities policy on general reserves is that any surplus Brief statement of the funds will be used for future projects or requests made by the charity’s policy on school. Any monies are used primarily to support or aid the reserves school. As at 31/08/2020 the charity held £5,601.00 in reserves.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/08/2018

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material examiner's matters have come to my attention in connection with the statement examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
