ORGANIsATIONALSTRU￿uRE Thc Church is run on & day-to-day basis by the pastor tog¢ther wilh volunteer support staff. They report on a regular basis to thc Trustces. Trusiees are appointed by a majority Vote of the existing Truslecs. appropriate training and support is providcd to new Trustees adapting to their role. Aim5 and Purpose5 of Ihe Charity The trustecs of Hope Communiiy Church (HCC) have the responsibility of ensuring the promotion of its mission as laid out in the Memorandum of Association. This mission includcs the advancement of the Christian faith at home and abroad. and relieving people in conditions of need. hardship, or those who are aged or sick. Objectives and Actkvitics HCC is committed to making thc bcncfits of thc Christian faith availablc to as many as want to acccss th¢m and sceks lo work beyond its own intcrnal organisational life to makc Ihose benefits available to all. When planning HCC'S activities for the year. thc trustecs along with lh¢ church elders have considered the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefiL and particularly the guidance on charities for the advancement of religion. Aehlevements and Performance Sunday Worship I.ICC Continues to mcct at Horizon School Swanley. During ihc ycar, attendanccs at Sunday gatherings grew slightly, with a many visilors allcnding the annual Christmas Carol Service. where thc cmphasis is on reaching out to the wider community by pr¢scnting thc Christmas story. Childrcn's & Youth Work Our Sunday children's work continucd to flourish under Beth Earnshaw's l¢ad¢rship. Our group ¢ontinues to have a significantly higher than national average of Lookcd After Children (including children under special guardianship orders and fostered children) and adoptcd children. This affects how the leaders are both preparin8 and delivering the sessions. Special attention is given to providing thcrapeutie responses to behavioural and emotional needs cxprcsscd.

The ¢hurch comm¢n¢ed a parent and toddler group in kptcmber 2024. Using th¢ premi5¢5 Qf another local hurch, the group, started by thurch members, has been successful in altracting people from th¢ local rommunity. Th¢ church is keen to provide a public benefit and dcliberatcly chose a day to run th¢ group when there was little othcr provision for toddlers and thcir carcrs, hclping improvc needcd provision across the town. A furthcr gap in service provision in Swanlcy was idcnlificd in the area of youth services. Parthering with Christ Church Swanley, in Septcmber 2024 a fortnightly youth group was started, which now provides a valuable scrvic¢ to upwards of 20 youth (both with church links and predominantly without). Ukralne War- Flnanclal gnd Matcrlal Rellef With the war in Ukraine continuin8, HCC membcrs have ¢onlinu¢d io provid¢ both finan¢¢s and material goods for relief of suffering in Ukraine. £1.425 has been dirccted through Hope Church Orpington www for the purchasc and delivery of relief suppli¢s for thc Ukrainc and Ukrainian refugees in Poland- this is a lower figurc than thc previous ycar. refl￿ting our links in Ukraine having increascd difficulty operating. The goods arc channclled through known church links in Poland the Ukrainc. Saf¢guardlng Thc Saf¢guarding Tcam of Sarah Rit¢hi¢, Georgina Fleasman and Carolynnc Pri¢e-Flaworth continue to provide an exccllent level of s¢rvi¢¢ for us. We ¢ontinuc as members of thirtyonc.. eight who provide advice as needed and DBS ¢h¢cks. DBS chccks arc rcncwed within the three year best-practice 8uidelines.
