The charity is committed to ensuring that young people from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds benefit frorn this incredible educational opportunity The core activities of the charity are to select young people from across Great Brttain to attend the UWC colleges. The colleges offer scholarship funding that they

administer and UWCGB finds worthy recipients of the allocated places. Along with the trustees, the charity is largely supported by volunteers many of whom are UWC graduates or former UWC parentsleducators. To support with this work, the charity has contractors who work on promoting UWC across the county and are involved in the administrative work for applicants. UWC graduates make an impacl in all walks of life and often retum to their local communities to fulfil the UWC mlssion. The application process itself is design8d to offer a mini UWC &xperience and is an extremely reflective prO￿sS for a young person to undertake and we know often increases their confidence and boosts motivation to develop themselves whether or not they attend a UWC. ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE .UWC brings people from every part of the UK and allows them lo access to an educalion that would not be possible within their local community. Whelher or not they receive a scholarship from us, the young people involved go into their local community and oftan make a significant contribution after they retum from th&ir time studying at UWC whether at home or overseas.
