The charity's princlpal source ol income is the visltor centre which was kept open all year, apart from a four woek closure in january 2024 tor planned maintenancè and Ihe installation of the blggest tank project slnce Ihe centre opened it) 2000. Visitor numljers to the county in 2023 s8w 3 15-20% reduction vs 2022, however our vlsitor c8ntre achleved a 10% increase in footfall, which is in its8lt a significant achl8v8m8nt alld a credltto manAgemeni and staff. Our research outputs continued w(th Involvement In a large genetlcs project. Delivered in collaboratlon with Universiiyof Exeter. GEMALOR comm8nced in jun8 2023 and will contlntJ8 until September 2024, operatlng oul ofour NBwlyn facility. Education remains at the very heart of what we do and. alongside our expanded Visltor Education Ctsntro. we ¢ontinued to engage with Schools. Colleges, Universities and other interesled groups and delivered education outputs at a widp range of levels. This ye8r the team rolled out a new juvenile lobster release strategy, designed to increase publlc Oducation, greaier awareness and Inoreased engagement.
