St Peter’s Prep School PTA Treasurer’s Report for financial year ended 31 August 2023 (2022/23)

Overview of the year

During the financial year ended 31 August 2023, St Peter’s Prep School PTA organised and held a number of events and sales, to raise money not only for our chosen charity (the Royal Marine’s charity) but also to support school projects and the purchasing of new equipment in order to enhance the lives of the children at St Peter’s.

The PTA was able to provide over £10,790 in order to help finance a number of school projects, the main one being the early years school playground.

We started the financial year with an opening bank balance of £18,134. We finished the financial year with a closing bank balance of £40,483.

Fundraising

Fundraising highlights for our financial year 2022/23:

• The second hand uniform sales, which made a very impressive profit of £8,267.

• The Halloween Disco, which raised £1,021.

• The Christmas Fair, which made a total of £1,802.

• The Summer Ball, which raised £20,830.

Donations/gifting

The largest single donation made by the PTA during the 2022/23 financial year was £10,000 towards the early years school playground. We also contributed £792 towards the school’s vegetable garden equipment and installation.

A charitable donation of £800 was made to Above Water.

Future operating balance and plans

With limited spend over the current financial year (2023/24), we are very well placed to contribute to the school’s cricket net fund. Excellent fundraising in the current financial year, fantastic contributions and an amazing PTA parent body have all combined allow us to contribute £15,000 towards the purchase of the nets.
