The Grove Residentlal Home (Solihull) Company Limited by Guarantee Independent Audltorfs Report to the Members of The Grove Resldentlal Home (Solihull) (continued) Year ended 31 March 2025 Auditors responslbllitles for the audlt of the financlal statements Our obieclives are to obtain reasonable assuran￿ about ￿ether the financial statements as a whole are free from material misststement, whether due to fraud or error. and to issue an auditors report that indudes our opinion. Reasonabte assuran￿ is a high level of assuran￿, but is not a guarantee that an audit ¢or)ducted in accordance wth ISAS (UK) will always detect a material misstatement when it exists. Misstatements (xn arise from fraud or error and are considered material if, individually or in the aggregate, they could reasonably be expected to influence the economic deusions of users taken on the basis of these finani?al ststements. Irregularities. induding fraud, are instsnces of non-compliance with laws and regulations. We design procedures in line wth our responsibilities, outlined above, to detect material misstatements in rest*ct of l￿egUla￿tieS, induding fraud. The exient to vthich our pro¢edures are capable of detecting irregularities, including fraud is detailed below: Our assessment focused on key laws and regulations the charity has to comply with and areas of the finan(ial ststements we assessed as being more susceptible to misstatement. These key laws and regulations included but were not limited to compliance wth the Companies Act 2006, United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practi￿, Charities SORP and ￿levant tsx legislation. We are not responsible for prevenllng Irregularities. Our approach to detect irregularity included, but VRS not limited to, the following: 1. An understanding of the legal and regulatory framework applicable to the charity and how the ¢harlty Is complying. 2. Obtaining an understsnding of the charity's polldes and procedures and how the charity has complied w(th these. through dis¢u88lon3 and sample testing. 3. An understsnding of the charitys risk assessment process, induding the risk of fraud. 4. Perfomlng audit work over the risk of management override of controls. induding testing of journal entries for appropriateness. Whilst consldering how our audit Wofk addressed the detection of irregularities, we also ¢onslder the likelihood of detecti¢)n based on our approach. Irregularities from fraud are inherently more difficult to detect than those arising from error. Because of the inherent limitations of an audit, there is a risk that we will not detect all irregularities, induding those leading to a material misstatement in the financAal statements or non-complian￿ regulation. This risk increases the more that compliance wth a law or regulation is removed from the events and transactions reflected in the financial sL9tsments, as we will be less likely to become aware of Instsn￿s of non-complian￿. Also the risk of not detecting a material misststement due to fraud is higher than the risk of not detecting one resulting from error, as fraud may involve deliberate COn￿alment by, for example, forgery or intentional misrepresentations. or through collusion. We are not responsible for preventing non-compliance and cannot be expected to (leterA noncompliance with all laws and regulations. As part of an audit in accordance with ISAS (UK), we exerose professional judgment and maintain professional scepticlsm throughout the audit. We also.. Identify and assess the risks of material misstatement of the financial ststements, vthether due to fraud or error, design and perfomi audit procedures responsive to those risks, and obtsin audit evidence that is suffiaent and appropriate to provide a basis for our opinion. The risk of not detecting a material misststement resulting from fraud is higher than for one resulting from error, as fraud may involve collusion, forgery, intentional omlssions, misrepresentations, or the override of intemal control. Obtain an understsnding of intemal control relevant to the audit in order to design audit procedures that are appropriate in the arcumstances, but not for th8 purpose of expressing an opinion on the effectlv6ness of the intemal

control.
