During the visit the Foundation identified suspected fraud and thè èmbezzlement of prolact funds by a senlor official at the delivery partner. The project was Immediately pausgd to prevent further losses. The matter was formally reported as a Serious Incident to th$ Charities commsSIon who Subsequently ¢onfirmed that, duè to thè Trustees, handllng of the incident and management of rlsks, they would not be taking action. We subsèquently appointed1•gal counsel in Uganda to initiate judicial intetvention and PLJrsue the recovery ol assets and funds. While legal proceedlngs are ongoing, a nèw project rnanagar has been appointed to ansure the continuation of the intendgd project activities and dalNery with th8 bandiciary groups. An independent revlew ol our due diligèncé and operational control procedures was undèrtaken by a specialist ¢on5ultant, strengthaning the robustness Of our project d&vèlopmgnt, managemant, and evaluation lilecycle. LIVELIHOOD SECURITY FUND The Llvèlihood Security Fund was relaunchèd in 2020 to ralse restricted lunds to halp producers in Alrfea and Latin America who arè severely Impacted by events outside of their eontrol. RESERVES AND GOING CONCERN STATUS in the United Kingdom governing the preparatlon and dissemination ol financial statements may differ from lagislation in other jurisdictions.
