Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
The Trustees reviewed the operating position of the Charity in January 2023 and decided to prepare for the September pilgrimage. An action plan was drawn up to consider the UK’s exit from the EU and possible consequences with enhanced security checks.
By April 2023 it was apparent that the trip was possible albeit with extra restrictions and procedures to ensure the well being of pilgrims. The pilgrimage took place during the second and third week in September and on a similar scale to pre covid scale was a great success and passed without incident.
The trustees are now confident to prepare for the 2024 pilgrimage and will work towards a trip taking 30 people. A new team was put in place for group leader and deputy and these had the confidence of all of the trustees.

| The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act)) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to • examine the accounts (under section 43 of the Act), • to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 43(7)(b) of the Act), and • to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts. In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention (other than that disclosed below ) 1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the trustees have not met the requirements to ensure that: • proper accounting records are kept (in accordance with section 41 of the Act); and • accounts are prepared which agree with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Act; or 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
