CBN programming is airin8 in multiple languages and stations in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Europe, and Austrolasia. In October 2024 TBN made a Strategic decision to move away from our non-fee-paying partnership model and gave us an option to pay £75K for airtime to run several of our programmes. Durin8 our discussion. we explored the possibility of partnerin8 Wtth them to create a mini-series documentary. which has seen great success in terms of viewership and response to C3115 to artion IcfA51. For example. their most-watched pro8ram in 2024 at that time was a Mercy Ship documentary, which has led to hundred5 of volunteers signing up not just in the UK but worldwide. We discussed the idea of a 5-week docu-series that they would film and produce. highlighting the story of CBN in the UK and Europe, examinin8 each pillar and initiative, with the opportunity for dirert ads at the start and end of each episode. Whilst this opportunity would have been beneficial to our development in the UK region, we did not have the available funds to commit and felt that our long-term partnership with Revelation TV which costs approx £250K per year was a better optiortr. We a150 surveyed a small sample size of our current donor base to ask them Why they give to CBN,. Based on those responses we felt that the walking away from our agreement wtth TBN was a lower risk. We continued the completion of our studio revamp in preparation for delivering MO￿ versatile content for both broadcast and digital platforms. rt of the Inde ndent Auditors to the Mernbers of Christian Broadcastin Network UK Identlfylng and respondlng to rlsks of materlal mtsstatement due to non<0mptIan￿ wlth laws and re8uiatlons We identified areas of Laws and regulations that cwld ￿a$￿ablY be expected to have a material effect on the financial statements from our general commercial and sector experience. and through disCU55ion ￿th management las required by auditing standardsl and discussed with management the policies and procedures regarding compliance with law5 regulati¢Jns. We communicated identified laws and regulations thrOtsgh￿t our team and remained alert to any indications of non- compliance throughout the audit. The potential effect of these Lav4S and regulations on the financial statements varies considerably. Firstly, the Charity is subject to Laws and regulations that direttly affect the financial stateTrÈnts including financial reporting legislation, tsixation legislation and the Charitie5 Act legislation a￿1 we a55essed the extent of Compli￿Ce with these laws and re¥ulations as part of our p￿￿edureS on the related financial statement items. Secondly, the Charity is subject to many ot￿r laws arK1 regulations where the ConseqL￿ceS of noncompliance could have a material effect on amounts or disclosures in the financial statements, for instance through the imposTtion of fines or litigation or the loss of the Charitls license to operate. We identified the follovring areas as those ffh)st likely to have such an effect: health arKI safety. anti-bribery. employment law. data protection, anti-money Laundering and specific area5 of other legislation recogni5ing the nature of the ChariW5 artivities. A￿lIting standards limit the required a￿lIt wocedures to identify fv)n-compllance wlth these laws and regulations to enquiry of management. inspection of regulatory and legal correspondence, if any. Therefore, if a breach of operational regulations is not disclosed to us or evident from relevant cOrreSp￿)denCe, an audit will not detert that breach. Context of the ability of the audit to detect fraud or breaches of law or reguiatlon Owing to the inherent limitaticms of an audit, there is an unavoidable risk that we may not have detected some material misstatements in the financial statements, even though have properly planned and perfomied our audit in accordance th auditing standards. For example. the further removed non-compliance with laws and regulations is from the events and transactions reflected in the financial statements. the le55 likely the inherently limited procedures required by auolting standards would identify it. In addition. a5 With any audit. there remained a hl8her rtsk of non-detection of fraud. as these may Involve colluslon. forgery, intentional omissions, misrepresentations, or the override of intemal controls. Our audit procedures are designed to detect material misstatement.
