SORP reference
Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 To advance education and provide facilities
in the interests of social welfare for

the object of improving the conditions of life
for local residents.
Arrange and provide for, either alone or with
others, the holding of exhibitions, meetings,
lectures, classes, seminars or training
courses and all forms of recreational and
other leisure time activities.
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or services
identified in the accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
We offer a venue for hire for a range of
classes and activities for local residents:

Senior’s Coffee and Lunch Club

We also organise and run Playschemes
during school holidays and organise
fundraising activities as LEYCCA is intended
to be self-funding and receives no regular
grant income.
We also hire the Centre out for private
parties, which is necessary to help fund our
costs.
The objects of LEYCCA’s constitution are
entirely for the benefit of the local community

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 The cost-of-living crisis had a negative
impact on everyone. LEYCC realised that
certain individuals within our rural village,
were struggling. We decided to open a
weekly Food Bank to support those
individuals and anyone else struggling to
feed their families. The Lane End Food Hub
was launched on 3rdFeb 2023 and has been
a huge success, helping numerous local
families to cope. We have also extended
this idea to offer “Cooking on a Budget”
classes and debt advice from local
organisations.
We ran 4 children’s playschemes during this
period, including taking 28 children to visit a
local Goat Centre. We received glowing
reviews from parents, as some children had
never experienced being that close to some
of the animals at the petting zoo before.
We ran a Macmillan coffee morning in
September, including running a quiz to raise
funds for Macmillan.
We also held a free joint event with the local
amateur dramatic group, where a story was
acted out as well as read to children. Each
child then received a copy of the book to
take home.

small running maintenance expenses).
In addition, LEYCC holds ring-fenced cash
