It is governed by a Memorandum and Articles of Association. The Company was established, following a review of the legal slruclure, lo take over the activities of the unincorporaled charity. Debenham Village Hall Playing Field Trust Iregislered charity number 3047421 established under a scheme approved by the Charity Commissioners under seal dated 4 July 1988. The charity owns and runs the Debenham Leisure and Community Centre for Ihe benefil of the inhabitanls of the Parish of Debenham, Suffolk and ils neighbourhood. These are sel out in more detail below in the Sections provKJed by our General Managef arKI Sports Lead. The year provided us with some major challenges, particularty related to National Living Wage INLWI increases 1£20k+l, additional electricity costs1£10kl and reduth.on in bar Income1£33kl. Some of these additional costs have been offsel by the increased activity on the Sport and Leisure side. enabling us lo finish the year with a small prolil of £4,303 before deprec¢alion. Our reserves remain healthy and inlacl. Further financial information is provided throughout the report along with graphs and of CurSe, the lull a¢ttwnts. Our slaffllruslees and volunteers are our most valuable assets. They, alorMJ wtth our customers and grant providers, continue lo ensure we provide a well-mainlained facility that 15 safe and mod8rn, catering for everyone's needs whatever their chosen activity. Through our report we acknOedge the continued, excellent relationships we have with Debenham High School, The Forge Community Church and also Zeera, the Indian lake away. A big thank you lo Ihem all. We are also grateful lo those Grant providers who have invested in our facilities over the 2023124 financial year. This green project adds to our already installed LED lighting throughout the facility. Biomass boiler arKJ the recenuy refurbished Community Centre inclusive of improved insulalion in the walls and roof. a new zinG roof. new windows. key jh1 roof windows, providing natural light and new heating appliareS. 2024125 will bring with it new challenges. The NLW has increased by 8.9% adding another £20k to our ever- increasing wage bill.

I have quickly come lo know that our staff team and Injslees, strive lo give Iheir very best lo serve their community in any way they can. This came lo light especially when we as a whole ¢ommunity faced the f5ocMYs from Siorm Babel last Oclober. How this impacted the community was devastating, however. we a5 a Leisure Centre were very graleful that we were able to help and serve our community Ihrough opening our doors as an Emergency Rest Cenlre. This was a rewarding and valuable learning experience. I have recently attended an Emefgency Response Centre training course hosled by Suffolk County cnl. so we can be even more prepared in any eventuality that may occur. We as a team have wothed hard lo invest more in Our cenlre. improving our facilit5, through front of house services and operational procedures lo give our customers the best experÈnce they can while they are here with us. One of the ways of addressing this wa$ lo improve wr ¢urrenl membership system. We have now invested In an app.based system called clubRhI. allowng our valued members lo have easier accessibility lo our facilities through self-check ins and easier accessibility lo book classes and allend activities wilhoul always needing a member ol staff. We continue lo fine lune our system through customer feedback, giving us the best opportunity lo make the eXper1er a much better one. We have had the pleasure of hosling various community events over this period, including music nights and one that slands out lo me was our fireworks event 2023. This was the first one I have attended and managed. I was so overwhelmed with the turn out and the atmosphere on Ihe night. the joy and the buzz of il all. may il long continue. Our next steps are lo continue lo engage and invest more with our community through offering local discounts on Communily Centre bookings and building on our volunteer support through the friends of Debenham Sports and Leisure. Spotts Lead {Clalre Needhaml This year has been successful in growng our fau'lrts and equipment. Staff training is a150 progressing positrvely. Milty compleled her level 2 fitness Instruction with a view lo completing level 3 this corning financial year. Milty and Lauren Calver are due lo attend a group cycling instructors. course in May. Additionally. I participated In a national competition which we won. The prize comprised inslnJ¢tOf training. equipment and a year's license to run ClubbeN$e dasses. Milly is bked lo Complete the training and will be leadin9 the new dass from the end of May.

The ease of booking through the app has been the catalyst for increasing class numbers. We have also invested in new display screen equipmentforthe office. gNing customers a professional impression of the reception and draslicalty increasing productrvty. Looking lo the year ahead l am seeking additional funding from Mid Suffolk Council to ftjlly fund a Feel-Good Suffolk scheme and a Sirenglh & Balance program. Both are tafgeled at those over 65, providing a variety of health benefits. Also looking al potential fvnd raising for addrtal spin bikes and studio equipment. Milly to complete her level 3 personal training qualification hopefulty by the end of 2024. Looking at fvnding for adding new additional dasses to the timetable to create vanety for our members.
