Chair’s Report 2023/24

Thank you for joining us this evening for our Annual General Meeting and for your continued support.

Review of 2023/24

This year has seen several key developments at Little Bears. One of the highlights was the launch of our new website on 10th September 2023. I want to extend special thanks to Deborah, whose efforts made the site a reality. The website has already proven to be an invaluable resource, helping us connect with new families and share information about the preschool.

In October, we were inspected by Ofsted. While it was a nervous wait, we were delighted to receive a ‘Good’ rating. The report, published on 10th October 2023, commended our team’s dedication to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for our children. This result is a reflection of the hard work and passion of our staff, and we couldn’t be prouder of the outcome.

We did, however, face a significant staffing change when Mica left us in May to take up a role at Chalgrove Primary School. Since then, recruitment has been a top priority, and I’d like to thank Emily for her persistence and hard work throughout this process. Despite interviewing several promising candidates, we have yet to secure a new team member but continue to actively work towards filling the vacancy.

On a more positive note, Deborah also organized successful fundraising events, including a Bear Hunt around Stadhampton in June and a stay-and-play session in August. These events not only raised funds but also brought our community closer together.

Plans for 2024/25

Looking forward, the Trustees have identified several key areas to focus on in the coming year:

Conclusion

In closing, I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has played a part in making this year a success. From the staff to the parents, committee members, and volunteers, your dedication and hard work have made Little Bears a thriving, supportive community for our children.

As we progress into the school year, I look forward to working with all of you to continue building on the strong foundations we’ve established. Together, we will ensure Little Bears remains a place where children can flourish.

Thank you once again for your time, commitment, and participation in tonight’s AGM.

Warm regards, Andy Driver Chair, on behalf of the Trustees
