Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
The academic year of 2022-23 saw several big events, including the
Christmas Fair ‘Ravensnow’, the summer fair “Ravenstock” and various
cake and coffee sales taking place throughout the terms.
A team of parent volunteers was also able to run pre-used uniform sales
which proved hugely popular - a great way both to recycle clothing and to
provide good value alternatives to buying new.
The biggest expenditure for the charity this year was to support a new
sensory room as well as buying laptops for teaching staff. The charity
continued to fund music provision and improvements to the external
space at the school – including the Wild Space area and school
playground and gardens. Extra-curricular sport and art activities for
lunchtime play were funded to broaden the experience for children
outside of the classroom.
Section E Financial review
Brief statement of the
charity’s policy on reserves
Details of any funds materially
in deficit
Further financial review details
Youmay chooseto include
additional information, where
relevant about:

the charity’s principal
sources of funds (including
any fundraising);

how expenditure has
supported the key objectives
of the charity;

investment policy and
objectives including any
ethical investment policy
adopted.
The charity retains a reserve cash balance sufficient to fund a normal
spread of activities in a given year. This is to provide cover in the event of
the PTA being unable to raise its usual level of income, or should it
become inactive for a period of time – for example through a lack of
volunteers.
Friends of Ravenstone has not needed to use any reserve funds in 2022-
23 due to the ongoing generosity and engagement of parents and the
community.
Where raised funds remain unspent at the end of the academic year,
they are kept in the cash account to support the charity in future and may
then be used to fund large-scale projects in future years which cannot be
covered by standard annual income.
N/A
(Optional information)
Donations - either direct or via sponsorship type events – have remained
an important source of additional funds and Friends of Ravenstone is
immensely grateful for all the continued support it has received from
parents and the wider community. Where applicable, Gift Aid has been
claimed on these donations.
