Activities

HWCP works across communities on the southern edge of Bristol, including some with very high levels of multiple deprivations. HWCP is moving forward with a vision of a community and ethical business hub - The Symes Resource Centre, which has rooms for hire, the local public library and runs direct services for local people including community transport.

Objects: The Charity’s Objects (“The Objects”) Are:a. The Promotion Of Urban Regeneration In Areas Of Social And Economic Deprivation For The Public Benefit In The City Of Bristol, And In Particular The Areas Of Hartcliffe And Withywood, By All Or Any Of The Following Means And Such Other Means As May From Time To Time Be Determined Subject To The Prior Consent Of The Charity Commissioners For England And Wales: I.the Relief Of Poverty In Such Ways As May Be Thought Fit;ii.the Advancement Of Education And Learning Through Training Or Retraining, And Providing Opportunities For Volunteering. Iii.the Creation Of Training And Employment Opportunities By The Provision Of Workspace, Buildings And /Or Land For These Purposes; Iv.to Provide Transport Facilities In Areas Of Social And Economic Deprivation And In Particular In Hartcliffe And Withywood, For People Who Have Special Need Of Such Facilities Because They Are Elderly, Poor Or Disabled, Have Young Children, Or Live In Areas Where There Are No Adequate Public Transport Facilities.v.the Provision Or Assistance In The Provision Of Recreational Facilities For The Public At Large And /Or Those Who, By Reasons Of Their Youth, Age, Infirmity Or Disablement, Poverty Or Social And Economic Circumstances, Have Need Of Such Facilities; Vi.the Protection Or Conservation Of The Environment; Vii.the Provision Or Assistance In The Provision Of Public Health Facilities And Childcare; Viii.the Promotion Of Public Safety And Prevention Of Crime; B. To Develop The Capacity And Skills Of Individuals In Socially And Economically Disadvantaged Communities In The City Of Bristol, And Especially In Hartcliffe And Withywood In Such A Way That They Are Better Able To Identify, And Help Meet, Their Needs And To Participate More Fully In Societyc. The Promotion Of Equality And Diversity For The Public Benefit By Cultivating A Sentiment In Favour Of Equality And Diversity.
