The Sir Stanley Matthews Foundation provides young people with the opportunity to achieve through sport by providing financial aid or assistance.
Objects: To Educate And Assist Young Persons In And Around The City Of Stoke-On-Trent And Elsewhere As The Trustees Decide Through Their Leisure Time Activities (And, In Particular, Without Prejudice To The Generality Of The Foregoing The Game Of Football) So As To Develop Their Physical Mental And Spiritual Capacities That They May Grow To Full Maturity As Individuals And Members Of Society And That Their Conditions Of Life May Be Improved Using In Furtherance Thereof The Inspiration And Example Of Sir Stanley Matthews (And In Memoriam Of Him) Together With The Pride Of The City Of Stoke-On-Trent In Its Association With Him As Inter Alia His Birthplace And Home Of Stoke City Football Club In Its Association With Him As Inter Alia One Of The Principal Football Clubs For Which He Played
