The Merchant Navy Association Harwich & District provides a meeting place for serving and retired Merchant Navy seafarers to meet and have social intercourse, receive welfare back up were necessary and socialise with other local exservicemens and civilian organisations. The association also has erected a memorial to british Merchant Navy Seafarers and continues to be responsible for its protection
Objects: The Promotion Of Good Citizenship Through The ` And Maintenance Of Memorials To All The Merchant Navy Seafarers And Deep Sea Fishermen Of Harwich And District Who Gave Their Lives In The Two World Wars And All Conflicts Since. The Advancement Of Education Of The Public In The Work Of Merchant Navy Seafarers During The Two World Wars And Related Matters. (Please See Copy Of The Constitution On File).
