Financial support for students on both the Diploma and Degree courses has continued although the courses were temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 during part of the year. The Trust would like to thank all those who have supported the Friends of IPASC Trust both financially and in kind.
The Trustees continued the agreed strategy of transferring sums raised to IPASC for their expenditure according to the priorities of the moment within IPASC. This is part of an approach focused on enabling IPASC to take more responsibility for its own management.
In order to ensure the monies were spent according to the objectives of IPASC:
- The Trust has received reports from IPASC identifying specifically how the Trust monies were used.

FRIENDS OF IPASC TRUST
REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES for the 12-month period to 30 June 2021
Review continued
- During the year the Director of IPASC, Amuda Baba, has been able to part take in zoom meetings with the Trustees and report on the works and developments of IPASC both at Aru and Bunia.
This gives Trustees confidence in the appropriate and effective use of donated funds. We believe we have complied with the duty in section 4 of the Charities Act 2006 to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Commission.
We see the practical outworking of our objective to be:
-
The raising of awareness of the work through newsletters
-
The raising and donation of funds to IPASC
-
The arrangement of visits by those able to continue the work of IPASC
Trustees and Vice Presidents
The trustees would like to thank the President and all the Vice Presidents for their continued support of the work of IPASC.
Events
The Trust continues to ensure that supporters are kept up to date by raising awareness through:
-
Distribution of a newsletter and prayer letter
-
Student Sponsorship scheme
The Student Sponsorship scheme continues to be successful and in 2021 £4,031 (2020: £3,667) helped support over 40 students. Difficulties were experienced during 2021 with courses being suspended temporarily for part of the year due to COVID-19 and its impact on the students courses. However the support will enable students to complete both Diploma and Degree courses that they would not have been able to fund by their own means
The Trust would like to thank all those who have given of their time and effort for which we are eternally grateful. The Trust seeks continually to raise wider awareness of the healthcare work of IPASC Aru
