Notes to the Accounts

1. Accounting basis. The accounts are prepared on a receipts and payments basis using a Charity Commission CC16-style layout. The records supplied did not identify restricted funds, so all funds have been treated as unrestricted.

2. Sources and audit trail. The figures are linked in the accompanying Excel workbook to bank statement transactions, handwritten cash book monthly summaries, handwritten cash expense lines, and prior-year accounts.

3. Banked cash collections. Bank statement cash deposits/DEP entries totalling £16,042.00 have been treated as banked cash collections and deducted from bank receipts in the workings to prevent double-counting cash donations already recorded in the cash book.

4. Cash reconciliation. The March 2025 cash book shows petty cash of £2,241.52. Reconstructed cash using the 2024 opening cash, cash donations, cash expenses and banked cash gives £1,833.29, leaving a difference of £408.23 requiring trustee review.

5. Major bank receipt. The bank records include £30,000.00 from A Ali Ashraf in September 2024. This has been included as other major bank receipts. Trustees should confirm whether it is a donation or Qarz-e-Hasna/loan funding before filing.

6. Loan from members / Qarz-e-Hasna. Opening loan from members per the 2024 accounts was £34,268.00. Payments marked Qarz-e-Hasna during the year total £21,040.00. The closing liability before any unconfirmed new loans is £13,228.00. If the £30,000.00 major bank receipt is confirmed as a loan, the liability would be £43,228.00.
