CHARITY COMMISSION FOR ENGLAND AND WALES Trustees, Annual Report for the perlod From l April 2024 to 31 March 2025 Charfty name: East Harptree Playing Field Charlty registration numbor: 1090521 Objectives and Actlvltles SORP rèfer8nc*J Para 1.17 Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document The purpose of the charity is to maintain and administer the playing field for recreational and sporting use by the people of East Har tree and the surroundin area The car park, playing field, tennis Court and play area are open for use at all tlmes by any member of the public subject only to some constraints during sports matches or, far more rarely, if Glosed at the direction of National Government (ie. Coronavirus) The playing field is used regularly by sports clubs which pay for the use of the sports pltches and the pavilion. It is also used by the local primary school and the local Pre- School as well as hosting a number of events whlch are open to the whole of the local community. The pavilion is also hlred out to dlfferent organisations (le Yoga group) or individuals and has been used as a polling station for a number of democratic voting processes in recent ears. The Trustees are awara of and have respected the Charity Commission guidan￿ on Publlc Benefit. The Committee looks to make the facilities as av8ilable as possible to all whilst ensuring that enough income is generated to cover the operating and Maintenan￿ costs. Achievements and Performance SORP reference Play Area The new play equipment was installed in the summer of 2018 and continues to be very popular with the local community It is monitored by inspectors acting for Fields in Trust and any significant defects actioned. P8r8 1.20 Tennis Court The Tennis court continues to be well used by the Community free of charge. Pavilion The Pavilion has been used during the year by the following organisations.. Harptree Villages Cricket Club Local Yoga group East Harptree Flower and Craft Show in September 2024 Environment Group Guides Crlcket Harptree Villages Cricket Club continued to use the cricket pitch for a full season of fixtures through the summer of 2024. Football Chew Valley FC under 12s played a full season of home matches at the Playing Field from September 2024 to March 2025. Chew Valley Foxes (girls under 8's) have also started playing at the Playing Field on Saturday mornings. New planting A wildlife corridor of c400 trees and bushes was planted in autumn 2021 and is being maintained in conjunction with both Fields in Trust and the Environment Group in the Villa Financial Review

Review of the charity's financial position at the end of the period Para 1.21 The overall financial position of the charity at 31 March 2025 was healthy with total cash reserves amounting to £30,259.05. Investment was made during the year in the following areas: New storage facillty (with financial support from National Lottery, Garfield Weston Foundation, Bernar(J Sunley Foundation, the crickét club and thé Parish Council) Replacement of infrastructure for zip wire in the Play Area Overall the eX￿SS of income over expendlture during the year was £87.09. The Parish Council currently fvnds the Gharity with an annual grant of £2.200 to go towards covering the costs of maintaining the grounds. The Play Area is also funded with the proceeds from the annual Vlllage Flower and Craft Show and the 100 Club. Th8 costs of wnning the remainder of the field and the pavilion are normally financed by the users of the facilities augmented by the Parish Council Grant. The Committee has always aimed to malntain an unrestricted reserve posltion of £3.000 to cover emergency or unforeseen repairs or Gircumstances and thls has been exceeded again this year.
