The Trustees Present their Annual Report and Accounts of the Charity

For the year ending 31st March 2023

Primary Purpose

The Charities primary purpose is to provide and maintain a Community Centre, which in turn provides the facilities for recreation and leisure activities for the benefit of the residents of Calow village and the surrounding area.

Review of the Achievements

With the Centre in use every daytime and evening and at least one group in at weekends it continues the trend of being busy.

The Centre is also popular place to hold childrens parties and anniversary celebrations and our Business use continues to increase by providing out of town facilities at a good hire rate with convenient free parking.

Calow Community Association is governed by its Declaration Of Trust Document which was adopted and signed on the 23rd August 2001.

The Community Association obtained charitable status on the 26th September 2001.

The first Managing Trustees are responsible for overseeing the administration of the Charity and run the Communty Centre jointly with the members of a management committee.

The Custodian Trustees, being Calow Parish Council, hold legal title to the centre and any other property relating to the centre

Outputs Achieved

Since the opening of the Community Centre it has been busy and successful and all those involved in its running and support have played an important role in achieving the following outputs.

Community facilities developed and continue successfully.

Community Groups supported 16

Six jobs created, Two part time cleaners

Two part time caretakers

One part time Treasurer

One Secretary/ Booking Clerk, part time

One Centre Manager, part time.

Young Mothers visiting the centre benefit from a weekly Mother and Toddler group held each Wednesday morning.

The Community Centre supports several Community Events held in the village including the Village Gala.

When all user groups are running we have over 400 people using the centre each week.

Tuesday: Short Mat Bowls 9.30am to 12.pm Yoga 9.30am to 11am Tea Dance 1.30pm to 4.00pm Shabumba Class 6.00pm to 8.00pm Taekwondo Class 7.15pm to 8.15pm Pilates 6.30pm to 7.30pm

Wednesday : Mother and Toddler Group 9.15am to 11.00a Yoga 6.15pm to 7.45pm

Thursday:

Short Mat Bowls 9.30am to 12.00pm

Kick Boxing 5.00pm to 6.00pm Yoga 7.30pm to 9.30pm

Friday: Art Class 9.30am to 11.30am Sequence Dancing 7.30pm to 10.00pm

Saturday: Dancing once a month Toga workshops once a month

Sunday:

New church Group 7.30pm to 9.30pm

Several Workshop Events throughout the year.
