Trustees Report
The Trustees Present their Annual Report and Accounts of the Charity
For the year ending 31st March 2021
(please note, as the report shows everything to 31st March 2021, we had to close the building due to the Pandemic on 16th March 2020)
Primary Purpose
The Charities primary purpose is to provide and maintain a Community Centre, which in turn provides the facilities for recreation and leisure activities for the benefit of the residents of Calow village and the surrounding area.
Review of the Achievements
With the Centre in use every daytime and evening and at least one group in at weekends it continues the trend of being busy. We have regular weekend Dance nights on the first and third Saturday each month and hold Dance and buffet special evenings throughout the year.
The Centre is also popular place to hold childrens parties and anniversary celebrations and our Business use continues to increase by providing out of town facilities at a good hire rate with convenient free parking.
Calow Community Association is governed by its Declaration Of Trust Document which was adopted and signed on the 23rd August 2001.
The Community Association obtained charitable status on the 26th September 2001.
The first Managing Trustees are responsible for overseeing the administration of the Charity and run the Communty Centre jointly with the members of a management committee.
The Custodian Trustees, being Calow Parish Council, hold legal title to the centre and any other property relating to the centre
