Activities
Southwark Irish Pensioner's Project is a Charity that works with some of the most disadvantaged and isolated Irish people in London. These people, who emigrated largely in the 1950s have become marginalised by society. They are unable to return to Ireland, as the people they knew and the places they came from are so changed that they are unrecognisable to them.
Objects: The Company Is Established Mainly But Not Solely For The Benefit Of Elderly People, Resident Or Working In The London Borough Of Southwark And Surrounding Areas (hereinafter Called “southwark”) Who Are Irish Or Of Irish Descent (hereinafter Called The Beneficiaries) By:(i)relieving Such People Who Are In The Conditions Of Poverty, Sickness And Distress Or Who Are Otherwise In Need: And(ii Providing And Assisting In The Provision Of Facilities For The Recreation And Other Leisure Time Occupation Of Such People In The Interests Of Social Welfare And So That Their Conditions Of Life May Be Improved.(iii)extending The Community Support Service To Family Members Of Any Age Where IT Is Clearly Impossible To Improve The Quality Of Life Of The Member Without Doing So
